What did you do to your jeep today?

I mean, if you want to pay the freight we could probably arrange something. I have no idea about any of that though. And you're about as far away as you could possibly be from me. :D

What did you do to your jeep today?

not for nothing, but there's a cluster of these things for sale on FB recently. wonder why. like, i'm seriously considering a 3rd pickup.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Kind of been on a spree the past couple of days. The coopers are all dated 2014, but surprisingly don't have any signs of rot. I don't plan on using them but I can see me rolling around on them on the project Jeep for a little while if I felt like it. The other four are dynapro tires that are...

    Which automatic gearbox oil?

I'm wary of anything that calls itself "suitable substitute." Several manufacturers make ATF+4, so I'd say just get the "real" thing and be done with it. It's also probably your power steering fluid and transfer case fluid. Chrysler "standardized" on it for a lot of applications.

    Which automatic gearbox oil?

check your book, but it should be ATF+4.

Cold Start fine but Warmed up it struggles. Vapor lock or CPS?

this sounds similar to my problem. Go to start the jeep after driving someplace and letting it sit for a bit, and it sputters and coughs and eventually dies. Cycle the key and it starts right up. My gut feeling is, something to do with the fuel pressure regulator or fuel pump. But it doesn't do...

    Where's the evap Vent valve???

once you found the loose BCM connections, it's time to clear all codes and drive it for a bit. and don't be surprised if the LDP/ESIM goes out on you sooner rather than later. these rigs are getting old, the LDP/ESIM are in a harsh environment place, and they're going to go bad.

What did you do to your jeep today?

stupid simple on these vehicles, if you don't have the mechanical fan. that and the alternator and belt.

What did you do to your jeep today?

mine crapped out sometime before 100k. to be fair, my jeep's electrical system gets the crap pounded out of it every winter. running the plow puts a pretty good shock load on the electricals. also an 06 and 07 have different alternators. ask me how I know.

What did you do to your jeep today?

wondering if anyone else can get this data for their rig. that's from the parts/broken automatic one.

What did you do to your jeep today?

now... it *might* be interesting to see if they can reprogram it to become an 06 v6 stick shift computer. THAT... would open some interesting possibilities. :D

What did you do to your jeep today?

I can get it fixed. there's a shop in IL that'll repair it for $160+shipping+tx. I don't *need* it fixed though, as this is just a parts jeep. would have been nice to have it fully working, to help raise the value on the engine by proving it's a good lump. But it is what it is.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Sadly, I just confirmed my worst fears. Found a video online of somebody with a 2005 Jeep Liberty with the exact same p2308 error code, and how he diagnosed that it was indeed a failed driver in the ecm. I just ran the same check on mine, and the driver is shorted to ground. So, I'm just going...

What did you do to your jeep today?

I was thinking about trying the light bulb trick. my bigger concern is, swapping coils didn't fix it, even after pulling the battery. the scan tool is showing the coil not even being commanded to fire either. I'll get a screen shot from the 'tool in a bit.

What did you do to your jeep today?

so I think I figured out what's going on with the engine. cylinder 2 doesn't fire. plugged in my Autel, and I see injector 2 isn't being commanded on. also see coil 2 isn't being commanded to fire. swapped coils; problem didn't follow. pulled plugs; they're actually practically brand new. #2 is...

What did you do to your jeep today?

had to pull the broke trans out of the parts jeep. torque converter apparently popped out and got stuck. now debating not even putting the converter in at all, since the trans will have no fluid anyways, and I don't want to cause something else inside of it to seize up while I test the engine.

What did you do to your jeep today?

I've noted many times that, it accelerates just as "hard" (same rate of change for speedo) in 1st through 5th, regardless of how hard I press on the throttle. That's physically impossible unless it's doing some kind of torque limiting program. Also, it struggled to climb a hill in 2nd gear at...

What did you do to your jeep today?

does anybody know if, the 07's with their drive by wire, do some kind of torque limiting? I've long felt for the entire time I've owned this thing, that sometimes the computer isn't giving me all the beans this thing can make. If it does, is there a way to get it to cut it out?
