    Seat belt lights. Aaaaagh.

    Disconnect both the plugs to the seat belt switch and seat sensor check each side with a multimeter, one is probably faulty, if they all check out then it's a game of hunt the wiring fault.

    The v6 is a bit hungry! My CRD does 23 ish round town and towing, and around 28 cruising, all US MPG my fuel computer wasn't programmed for UK MPG.

    It can be a chore to get all the air out of the fuel system once it's been open. You might have issues with that?

    Yeah they all sag over time, the original springs ware out quite quickly. My diesel was nearly 2" low at the front.

    Not if we are talking about the same bit! The long driveshaft is in two bits, the joint is splined, this is the bit that normally gives problems, good old Jeep assembled it dry so it rots. The other end of the shaft plugs into the diff, this end runs in the diff's oil bath so it's normally...

    I didn't, the previous owner replaced the rack I found it when I was investigating why the newish rack had play and a knock :eek: Good point, a lot of critical stuff is torque to yeald now, I'll see if I can get another one.

    I think it's under the screenwash tank but mine is a UK spec diesel so yours may be different.

    I found the steering shaft clamp bolt was loose, the one that slides onto the rack splines.

    That's the seal out of the plug & socket, without that you will have corrosion issues with it.

    Good point, had a look at mine, the radiator and condenser gap was clean, but the t ransmission oil cooler to condenser gap was full of leaves and straw! Cleaned it out quickly with a hose and the lid off some plastic conduit, I'll have to pull it to bits for a thorough job another day.

    The AC adds a lot of heat to the stack of heat exchangers. If your radiator is part blocked or the water pump isn't working like it should then you could get the problem you describe. The best way to get the head gasket ruled out is find a garage with a test kit who can see if there's any...
