There are some great, no-drill, clamps available for the ditch lights on Amazon.... https://a.co/d/04RSlfzu Installed them on my Jeep a few years ago. I used blue threadlocker. They are rock solid.- burntkat

So does mine, at 25 he doesn't do too much stupid shit (unlike his old man at that age) and the price of apartments, etc, is ridiculous around here. He pays $360 a month for rent and helps me with anything I need help with. He's a good kid.- burntkat

Got it. Once again, ratchet straps and old guy tricks save the day. Ran the strap with one hook in the crossmember, around the back of the c- channel assembly that came with the IRO upper arm kit, other hook to the other side of the transmission x-member. Now the worst part of the job.... Trying to get the axle in just the right place so the bolt that holds the bigass hiem joint in will go through. Literally the last part. It's always a bitch. But not as bad as that overgrown, Ill-suited TRE the factory put there...- burntkat

Well, that replacement went quick. Went to grease the other joints (smaller version of the joint above, a derivative/cousin of Johnny Joints and Rubicon Express joints) and my son fiddled around with his grease gun for a half hour trying to get them greased without luck-grease just constantly...- burntkat

Kid is ripping out the boomerang now, so we can install this.... FYSA to anyone installing this... The 6 Allen head screws go to 70 in-lb first, then 85. Alsi, they come with nykok nuts. After having had one failure, we are using blue threadlocker on them this time, just to belt-and-suspender this- burntkat

Finally found the source of the annoying ckunk in my 05...the Iron Rock off-road boomerang diff joint. Seems the shell wasnt properly secured. The through bolts departed and the structural parts of the joint and bracket beat the shit out of the pivot assembly. OH well. 50 bucks for that part...- burntkat

Blower motor resistor replacement 4-wire set up
No other difference. Just more robust construction. IIRC, it's an actual wire-wound resistor instead of traces on a PCB.- burntkat

Cribbing is the cheat code. Yes, it's 'only wood' in 2x4 or 4x4 sections, but if you ever do armored vehicle recovery, or work first responder for vehicular accidents, guess what they use.... Sounds like you have it figured out. This is what I came to recommend. I am curious about the hit you ordered off Amazon as a base for it. If you can weld at all, you can easily fab up a baseplate and an adapter for the head of the jack to get a better bite on a suspension arm or axle tube...- burntkat
