I posted my 'forklift' list off of RA in the previous post. Everything is name-brand same vendors I'd get from the LAPS. Four Seasons, with the Condensor being an "upgraded anti-corrosion" Denso unit. Going this route, I've had excellent results with RA with the other parts I've got from them...
I'm in the same place, wurh my 05. Here is what I ordered from Rock Auto...
Add a seal kit for a whopping 6 bucks, just in case...
My son is about to make $400 in side work off me alone.... After he made $200 doing 4 tires and an alignment earlier this month....
EDIT - haven't had a functional...
Looks like you are on the right track. But sounds as though you will have to completely remove the compressor... And of course your expensive refrigerant.
Last month or so, I have...
-replaced rear shocks
-replaced 4 tires
-gotten it aligned after the tires
....and now, after sitting in traffic for 3 hours to go 18 miles (thanks to RR XING work in the area) in a 135 degree black jeep.... Ordered every damn thing I need to 'forklift' the AC...
If you are going to do your own maintenance, I HIGHLY recommend reusable gaskets for the diffs and oil pans if they are available. For diffs and trannies, LubeLocker are what I use....
EDIT - Bears checking to see if the engine oil pan gasket is available in elastomer. Felpro has a line of them...
4.5 years these days is a good run for a battery. It was time. Additionally, if it was one of those Optima batteries... Let's just say they aren't what they used to be
If people rubbing against it is causing it to false, a ****** job was done installing it.
I still suspect the alarm, but I think it's going to be a case of a poor install. Common offenders are supplying relays with 12v constant power when they should only be seeing power when tripped (while...
Deadline the vehicle til that is addressed. This is an iron block with AL heads. Make sure to get the heads properly surfaced. I speak from experience.
You want the fill point to be the high point. Such generic device won't always work. You have to assess your situation. Just like with bleeding hydraulics, you need the bleeding point to be the highest point at the cylinder.
Specific to the 05 and similar with the 3.7, flat ground with maybe a...
Be aware that these vehicles have an electric fan in front of the engine driven fan. The drive coupling from the electric fan (ie, wind/air flow) can make it appear that the engine fan is doing its job when it is merely weathervaning from the electric. Be absolutely sure that your fan clutch is...
I had the same problem with my bleeder screw. I freed it up by driving the vehicle abd then taking a pack of birthday candles (any thin candle or maybe even crayon will do) and let it melt round the circumference of the screw. If it cooled off, drive and repeat. Follow with a shot of PB Blaster...
Tried to find the bolts for my (05) a-pillar trim piece. Seems I have misplaced the (hex-head) bolts that went there. That's fine, rather have Phillips screws anyway... But I don't know what size they are (thread-pitch and length). Anyone happen to know?
Drove it to work. Very nice not having the rear axle wandering around, and not hearing any banging (other than the occasional locking/unlocking from the locker out back).... Particularly going over RR tracks and not feeling like the ass end of the Jeep is going to fall out.
