It's funny, because as good as the KJ stops, even on crap tires ThunderbirdJunkie's Jetta stopped better than his KJ on bad ass tires. There's no excuse for that level of inattentiveness.

If you push the pistons back and don't pump the brakes first thing before moving, it will have the same effect.

It actually does. In low range, it sends a signal to the ecm to change the timing and fuel trims to increase low end torque.
