I've been on that dirt road in moab, although it was not snowing at the time.:D It is a few little ruff in spots and there is just a few little rocks that like to sneek up on you and bend factory skid plates.:D
Just found out that I'll be working in town till at least the end of the year so whenever your ready. I have a another spring lift but It's going on my daughters 02 next year.
If you decide to do a spring lift, I can help you put it in. Just bring it by, should only take a few hours. My wife is only 5' 4" and she loves her lifted KJ. Rides better than stock. :)
Just checked on car-part.com they show some used trans with 15 to 20 thousand miles for 850.00. My 04 has 156,000 miles and still runs like new so yours should have alot of miles left in it.
If the water get above the exhaust it will not run unless your moving. It looses all power and its all you can do just to keep it from dying. Been there,But i think the snorkel looks good and would still like to have one.:D
04, with 156,000 miles replaced two radiators,Idler pulleys, two drive shafts, two ac compressors. I think thats all, just small stuff:D It's all worth it you can't have this much fun driving on the street.
When I installed the HD cooling kit the instructions said to drill out the two rivets holding the header panel. Then just take out the other four bolts and put bolts in place of the rivets when you reinstall. When I replaced the radiator later I was able to just take it straight up and out.
