My version of a "new" Liberty...

Hmmm, that's a thought... ... wonder if the running gear from a GC/SRT would... ah, nevermind.

My version of a "new" Liberty...

... I'm kinda partial to the original design for the Liberty, so I thought I'd come up with my own concept. Actually, it's just an excercise at playin' with Photoshop...

    All clean...

Thanks... the wheels are 18", off a Dodge Magnum R/T. The tires are 225/60-18's. A caveat though... the bolt pattern is 5 on 115, our Liberty's have a 5 on 114.5 pattern. I was unaware of the difference before putting them on. I've inspected them several times, while rotating the tires...

    All clean...

Thanks... I thought of removing the "Jeep", but it's been on there for so long that, even though the paint is white, there'll still be a "shadow" underneath. However, that may be a moot point, the "chrome" is discolouring, it's nearly black on the "P"... so it may be coming off soon anyway.

    All clean...

Spring has seemingly, finally arrived... so I got a wild hair up my... and decided to detail the Ole Heep. Spent the better part of a beautiful Sunday scrubbin' n polishin'... thought I share the results. The wheels were particularly filthy, so I had to devote much of my energy to...

    Bedlining Sport flares & bumpers

Just checked with my paint supplier. He told me that the "liner" is no different than any other paint. His advice.... Because the plastic is porous and has been exposed to the elements, prep it by washing them in the hottest water you can stand, with plenty of a good, grease cutting...

    Bedlining Sport flares & bumpers

I'm not all that familiar with the properties of the "liner" materials, but I would think that if you put down a good adhesion promoter, it would hold on like any other "paint". You raise a legitimate concern though... how about shooting the plastic parts with the promoter, then a coat of...

    Bedlining Sport flares & bumpers

Just out of curiosity, what's the problem with shooting textured fenders? I'm assuming that the "liner" product you're looking to use, will leave a textured finish when the work is completed, right? If so, why would it be neccessary to sand the part smooth before painting it? I've shot...

    Are these guy's serious?

I was so amazed at the potential power gains to be realized by merely plugging this "performance chip" in, I thought I'd see what it would do for the other vehicles listed on the companies site. My neighbor kid owns a Geo Tracker and I know he's in need of a boost in performance... wadda ya...

I just enjoy experimentin' with my PhotoShop...

Thanks... They are the 18" Dodge Magnum/Charger R/T wheels. The bolt pattern is 5 on 115, so they're not an exact match for the Liberty's, however I've had them on the Jeep for over two and a half years without a problem. I, and my, mechanic have closely inspected them for anything...

I just enjoy experimentin' with my PhotoShop...

I was attempting to create the "High Definition" effect... Before: After: Trying to get the techniques down, so when I get shots in the field, I can work with them...

    What do y'all think about...

As you were describing it, I was thinkin'... Umm, not so much. After seeing the photos though, I kinda like it... The wheels and grill match, right?

Shakes after lift and new tires?

I'm not sure a 2.5 inch lift would cause this, but my neighbor had a similar issue after converting his Tacoma to a solid front axle and installing a lift kit. After checking all the usual suspects, he found that the rear diffs pinion angle was the culprit. He added a small wedge and the...

    Anyone running Eibach springs?

I actually saw a lowered, 2WD Liberty running at an autocross type event... it was performing some serious a__ whoopin' in the process. I'm not sure about how the classes are divided up in such events or what criteria is used to classify a vehicle, but the Liberty, having such a short wheel...

    Anyone running Eibach springs?

The springs built by Eibach LOWER the Liberty by an inch and a quarter... probably not big sellers.

Refilling an engine that's had no oil in it for 6 weeks

Lots of different advise... I like to take a conservative approach to something like this... a little time spent now, may save a bigger hassle later. My boat sat for several years, hadn't been planned that way, but such is life... After draining and refilling with oil, I pulled the plugs...

What's missing from your KJ that the build sheet says it has?

Years ago, I worked at a stealership that remove things like mats and such, then try to sell them as a "dealer installed" option... even though they were listed as included on the window sticker. It was also fairly common, at least at this dealer, to remove accessories from one unsold vehicle...

    I'm strongly considering a Liberty... ???

... I forgot to mention that my wife swerved to avoid hitting a kid in a parking lot and ended up punching a Liberty shaped hole in a stucco wall... up to the base of the windshield. After it was backed out, under it's own power, we took it to a very reputable repair shop. The technician was...

    I'm strongly considering a Liberty... ???

I bought a brand spankin' new, '02 Liberty Limited for my wife... it's got all the bells and whistles available that year and has been dead reliable. With the exception of the ball joint recall, the only visits to the shop have been for regular maintenance. My only regret (hanging my head in...

Just for the heck of it...

Yep, the colors didn't turn out as I hoped... Looks like I'm a day late and a dollar short, that REAL two door is slick. I kind of like the hood, I've not seen one like that before, is it a one-off or is it available with a vendor?
