    Front Differential Bushing Replacement??

It looks like I may need to fix up these bushings myself, how hard is the job to do with the front end in place? the large dish plate that sets around the pumpkin looks easy enough... can the others be pulled out without pulling the entire front diff out?

    Winch mount on stock bumper.

Thanx for the reply :) I have 1.5" lift H&R springs... how much did your front end sag with this weight? Did you measure? I was thinking I would do a clevis lift to compensate for whatever droop the weight gives. I was aiming at a 12k OpenRoad winch. Weight is 26.8kg so about 59lb still...

    Winch ideas KJ

I found a pic of one for an XJ this is likely similar to what I will build... Simple, light weight, cut the bumper and grill to fit... and maybe crossmember... IDK exactly how that is setup in there...

    Winch ideas KJ

Hi all, I am looking at adding a small winch up front, dont want to go all ARB bumper for $$$ sake. So I am investigating a DIY that keeps much of the stock bumper. https://cad4x4.com/product/jeep-cherokee-kj-winch-plate-with-skid-plate/ Since this is a DD whatever I do, it cant inhibit that...

    KJ tank skid plate

I would keep looking at junk yards... I found one in Canada local to me ish - on Vancouver island last spring, cost me $50 CAD look for someone wrecking a 2002-2006 renegade.

    Deeke's upper control arms?

I am not worried of that in this case. The UCA does not take the main stress of load, its the upper most component, not spring loaded. Yes it takes load on turns, a fraction of the stress of the lower arm. The part had good welds and good weight indicating a reasonable tube was used. I am...

Upper Control arm Fiasco - maybe this will help others...

thing is, how are you going to re-grease the setup? These are open bushing setups, so the grease gets pushed out over just a few months. Hard to say how long it will go, but I would expect 6 ish months and the bushings will be squeaking or wearing badly... The only way to re-grease is to...

Upper Control arm Fiasco - maybe this will help others...

Did the lower ball joints with Moog problem solvers and I did the wheel bearings as well. The LCA I did not touch. In my case the tie rods were just a little lose but I think I can get by for a bit more. Easy to replace and I can do my own toe in adjustment. Suggest you take a close look at...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Today- wheel alignment last weekend... New front wheel bearings, lower ball joints, upper control arms. a few weeks b4 that, replaced all suspension springs - 1.5" lift over stock, installed fuel tank skid from a renegade. A few weeks from now - install limited slip diff from same renegade...

I considered that as well, but then every 6 months or so I have to remove the arms to re-grease them... hell no

    Deeke's upper control arms?

this was my plan, since with the UCA designed the way Deeke and JBA do it takes this easy to get upper ball, I was not worried if it failed in a short ish time. I did not expect the bushing size to be so much larger than JBA (assumed) that it would not fit due to diameter...

Upper Control arm Fiasco - maybe this will help others...

I considered a few thoughts, up to and including cutting a relief in the top of the pocket to allow the zerk fitting to clear, and drilling and tapping a new hole in the bottom for the zerk to be under side of the bushing... decided against.

Upper Control arm Fiasco - maybe this will help others...

nope the sleeves are perfect. #1) the diameter of the poly is too large and rubs in the rounded corners in the back, wont allow the bushing into the pocket enough to get the bolt in. Answer here is to slightly chamfer the edges of the poly bearing. Not ideal but I would have been ok if this...

Upper Control arm Fiasco - maybe this will help others...

So this weekend I had a four day repair due to parts that just don't work. 2003 Jeep KJ 4x4 3.7 auto Got a set of those Deeke UCA that look fairly decent. Did not imagine they could not fit. Gave up (likely going to lose money on these) ALSO - don't go with the AC-Delco UCA as they put the...

    Deeke's upper control arms?

So final report, Don't go with Deeke anymore, seems they "upgraded" the bushings to larger units that don't fit the KJ, specifically our 2003 and I don't know if the UCA bushing pocket may be larger in later years. ALSO - don't go with the AC-Delco UCA as they put the zerk on the inside and you...

    Deeke's upper control arms?

Abort, its clear they used a larger poly bushing than will fit in my 2003. Sending back, Amazon :) Went and grabbed a pair of AC-Delco UCA....
