I've resoldered my defrost tabs back onto the rear window a few times now. Anybody got any tricks to make it more durable?
Not with this vehicle, but once upon a time I used a paperclip to bridge the gap for the rear window defrost. :D

Just made a mental note: never check to see if back door windows work (never had cause to open them in the 18 months I've had it)

As for today, as I parked up this afternoon, I noticed that damn ABS light's on again. Hoping it's just that dodgy connector on the last replacement sensor.

Not exactly today...but 10 YEARS AGO TODAY I bought my Jeep. First and only time in my life that I walked onto a car lot and fell in love on the spot. ;)
Mine turned 21 this month...best vehicle I have ever had!

Unfortunately I am going to scrap it soon:mad: the Dealers are no longer supplying spares or service for the KJs!

You guys in the USA have a lot of sites that can supply parts but none of them appear to ship to South Africa and I have only one small Breaker Yard near to me!

If I lived in one of the major cities I would be able to find used spares and have access to good Mechanics but this is pretty much a one-horse town near to the Kruger National Park which is why I like it so much!

I will have to scrap it and buy some other cheap used vehicle...must stand reasonably high and have a good load capacity!;)

Unfortunately the KKs were never sold here and the newer Jeeps are out of my price range!

Did you try the EU supplier's? They are common here & well supported.

No Bill. KK's are plenty. Just check Gumtree. They are called Cherokee's as well. Just search for 2008-2012 models and you'll find.

You can also try USA spares (scrappers) in PTA. They'll send a part to your door. No need to get rid of you KJ yet :)

RockAuto ship worldwide, so do a few UK suppliers (very useful for RHD bits), try eBay.uk. (which will also open the door to suppliers in Oz, Poland, Czechia, Spain, Germany, Italy, Latvia & Lithuania).

Where they do score in the US is every smalltown, main street, autoparts store will have nearly everything they need - & any number of specialist 4x4, if not Jeep, shops to carry out work they can't/don't want to do themselves.

I *may* have saved the Liberty battery! Stuck it on the Optimate charger before the long weekend and walked away. Went and checked it today and 12.6v! Hmm…. Load tested it by putting it back in and it’s started the Jeep three times today.

/fingers crossed

Czecs and Poland ship worldwide. Have gotten lots of goodies can't get in the states from there via DHL fast and affordable.

Thanks for the reply DeVillliers.....I have never seen a KK here in this small town of White River or Nelspruit either...I will look around for them!:D

I have tried USA Spares before....big mistake! They did not have what I wanted but kept bugging me with all sorts of rubbish items so I had to block them!

not knocking IRO in the slightest. I did however have one bolt head break off. I believe it was more likely a defective bolt over anything else. An easy fix once you find the correct hardware. Apparently 10-32 in 1-3/4 inch length is not common. I went ahead and replaced the whole set while I was there just incase.
