05 KJ spare tire carrier bracket replacement

Had this Liberty just a week and had to get this replaced. This was driving me nuts to see this. New brackets are coming this week.

of course 3 bolts were seized in and had to get out the torch to heat them loose. the brackets were not in good shape at all. almost disintegrated.

Metal prepped the body with Ospho and will prime and paint tomorrow.

I'd better have a look an mine, if they match the sills then there won't be any metal left...

My stomach drops every time i look at my sills. I am OCD about certain things and the sills just makes me sick. going to sand and metal prep and remove as much rust as i can so it will stop rusting but the damage is done...

They are structural so need welding I'm afraid, mine were shot to bits, I had to replace the outer and inner sections, couple of days welding and grinding. I put some pictures on here if you want to see what they look like when you knock all the rust off.
The other side isn't as bad so that can wait until spring, along with the rust blister on the roof. Good old Jeeps, melt in the rain!

So i ordered the new brackets from Mymoparparts.com. Came in yesterday and they shipped my some Wrangler rear vents instead. what? not even close to the part number of the brackets i ordered. they said they were going to send me the correct parts. we will see. probably won't use them again. just a heads up on them.

Finally got the correct parts for my Jeep. Putting them on this weekend!

LOL have some like new on the used parts shelf ,..............................
or did have if I didnt give them away , so many parts ( and no one wants them now ) I forget what all I do have

I don't know what else i would be needing as i work on this jeep. if you have time maybe sometime send a list or even pics of what ya got.
