I know this has been discussed a bunch of times. But this listing says these came off a Liberty. The wheels look to be from a TJ Wrangler, but they're '15's. I thought 15 aluminum wheels didn't fit KJ's, only the steel wheels? Is it possible the person was using a spacer? If so, what size do you think would have been used?

I remember reading on lost jeeps someone was using 15" cast/alloys on theirs, but I didn't ask about it to know more, and there were no pictures.
I've seen success with 15" steels, so the fitment for cast seems right in the gray area, a try it before you buy it kind of fitment it seems.
I think it was one of tom's posts I read where some wheels no longer fit well with fresh brake pads in them, which I didn't think about before researching.

I'm currently using spacers as mine had dry rotted tires on it when I bought it, I needed something extremely budget and 16" steels with tires from newer wranglers can be found dirt cheap. I held out for and recently found some 16" american racing wheels off a tj that I can put on after I lift it. I had no problems with my spacers over the last year on this vehicle towing a few times a week or on tj's in the past, but for me it will be nice to have 20 less lugnuts to worry about, and no more cleaning the loctite off the threads every time I work on it.

This guy is selling these for only $200. 30x9.5R15's. I figured if I can't use the wheels I can always buy a set of steelies. But was hoping I could get these to work since they apparently came off a Liberty already.

Can you do a test fit? There has to be enough room inside the wheel for your brake calipers and for the lower ball joint nut. Sounds like some styles of 15” wheels from TJ’s/XJ’s/ZJ’s have been used successfully while most of them won’t fit. They do, however, all have the right bolt pattern (5x4.5). The 07+ JK Wranglers and 05+ Grand Cherokees have a 5x5 bolt pattern which would require a wheel spacer/adapter.

I can probably do a test fit. If they don't fit I might just grab a set of cheap steel ones and put the tires on those. I've seen some as low as $50 for a full set. Was just hoping someone's successfully put alloy ones on with a spacer.

If going with steelies, a 7” wide wheel with 5 inches of backspacing works best. If going with an 8” wide wheel, then 4” of backspacing. The 8” might require some modifications not to rub on turns, like pounding over the pinch weld.

99 per sent will not fit due to rubbing on the front calipers
steels will but not aluminum
I would not use spacers to go to a 15 inch wheel , well in any case

7 inch wide 5 inch backspaced if unlifted,
lifted 7 inch wide 4 inches of backspacing
If 8 inches wide then 5 inches of backspacing when lifted
4 inches would stick out and cause issues

That's what I figured given everything I've read on KJ wheel fitment. But then I saw this ad and it totally threw me off since they're 30x9.5R15's and they were alloy. I wasn't sure if someone figured out a way to get them on. Doesn't matter anymore because the guy just sold them. Was just gonna run steelies but oh well lol. Huge thanks for the responses. I'm just gonna try to find a used set of 245/70's and call it a day until I can save up for a proper lift.

Yes if doing a proper lift, then you will want new tires and wheels
Then you can get the right width and backspacing

Do you know if the 2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ 65th Anniversary 15” Alcoa rims fit a jeep liberty?
