Is there any place other than Mopar to get a new intermediate shaft ? Mopar/dealers are very pricey wanting over $300 for one.

Found mine on Amazon for about $100. Try putting the part number into the Google machine. I ended up with a crown brand one.

Is the shaft actually broken or the CVs just bad? Can rebuild the CVS for under 70 bucks. Just need a pair of snap ring pliers.

Many places in town should be able to rebuild for you for half that price. Usually a drive shaft/suspension shop. St stated above it is possible to rebuild your self but you may need extra tools like big hammers!

Is it the front propeller shaft that you refer to as the "intermediate shaft"?
Please don't confuse our American cousins talking about prop shafts; it may be what we (& probably most other English speaking nations) call them but they are drive shafts across the Pond. Here we are talking about axle shafts, i.e. 1/2-shafts to you & I. It's just that the RH one on a KJ is a 2-piece affair, not that it's immediately obvious - & I've just changed mine.

Heck the one LIberty I found in Tanzania even called it an intermediate shaft when we were discussing things on them

Didn't someone once refer to "2 countries, separated by a common language"? Trouble is there are far more players now - all believing they speak English (just look at the choices when, say, setting up a computer.) Still say the big difference is between the US & the rest of the (English speaking) world when it comes to car parts & tools.

Update on this, as I didn't realize you were overseas! If you search eBay, you can find the shaft rebuild kits for very reasonable prices. There are plenty of u-tube videos that show the process as well. Good luck!

If you really want to discuss this my wife has a Doctorate in Linguistics', she was taught English by a very bad teacher using what she called The Real English
Her main language is Swahili ( Born and raised in Tanzania , parents live on the slopes of Kilimanjaro )
Im just a Mzungu raised in Ohio, with a redneck father until 10 years old
But I do know what parts are called ; )
