Just an fyi, the handle on the gen 3 Smittybuilt winch needs to be replaced with a low clearance one for the winch to fit in the arb bumper. No just trying to figure out how to mount the control box

Swapped in some heated mirrors from a 2011 into my 2008 Sport. The 2011 heated mirrors had the same 8 pin pigtail as my unheated mirrors, so they were plug and play with no modifications. I verified that the pins for the heated mirror circuits were present on my 08, and they were. They showed 12 volt when the rear defroster button was turned on. Super easy, super useful mod. :D

Anyone need a pair of reasonably beat up, but still functional, unheated KK mirrors?

Discovered on the way to work I have developed a rattle…good news is I think it’s just a parking brake backing plate broke loose. New steering knuckle arrived this morning and have had the e brake parts for a while. Back in town, back in (wrenching) action.

After getting new tires last week and finally having some free time I sanded and rattle canned the stock aluminum wheels, I feel like it completely transformed the look. Was thinking taillights next?

No on that idea, unless you like the cops
IF you think you want them darker use NITE SHADES
Not over the lights themselves just outside edges
Did mine on the 04 centuries ago and looked great ( IMO )

Getting ready to put in a new steering knuckle and hub. Is the hub a thermal fit into the knuckle? Didn’t have the female torx last time I went to change a hub so never got around to finding out. Need to do it while Wifey is out of town incase I need to use the oven…lol

You can usually knock it out by hitting the flange with a mini sledge around the perimeter. Why the need for a new knuckle?

Oil change day.

On the KK with skid plates the best way to the oil filter is through the drivers side headlight. ;)

Went to Mobil-1 full synthetic for the first time. Got to say I am pleased with how quiet the engine is now. No sewing machine tapping sounds at idle at all. I may be a Mobil-1 convert.

Today was also headlight polishing day. I used a Sylvania HRK kit. It involves 40 minutes of manual sanding but the results are great.
