Should i regear?

Ok so right now i’m running 235/75/16 with 2.5” lift and I’m thinking of switching to 245/75/16. Normally i know there is no need for regearing with this tire size. However i do a lot of towing so i’m afraid it’ll be pretty ******* the truck, even now when i tow on the highway whenever there is any sort of a hill i have to kick down into 2nd gear. So is it worth regearing if i go to 245/75/16 and will it have any adverse effects on day-to-day driving since gear ratio will be lower than normal?

Be even more fun in day to day driving
And yes towing a trailer will be better by far
On my 03 I am running 4.10s with 265-70-16s , same height as 245-75-16s just wider with 2.5 JBA adjustable lift
This is my DD now, running 90 plus miles daily ( Monday through Friday )
been regeared with that size tires for over 80,000 miles
I have two of my KJs regeared , and will do the third one when time comes
As far as the statement " no need" I will argue that
I'm a firm believer in regearing when going larger tires

Gearing will NOT be lower per se since you are going to bigger tires so it is bringing the motor back into factory specs

Well just going through old post, most people seems to think that regearing isn’t necessary for 245/75/16. Online gear ratio calculator says i will have a 3.9 final drive ratio with 4.10 and 245/75/16 where factory was 3.7 so thats why i asked how it feels during day-to-day

I have 245/75R16 and have not regeared. Wish I had. Power on the highway is not great holding speed up hills during regular driving. Mpg highway is about 17. When towing, it is harder on the drive train. I see no difference at slow speeds or wheeling.

Its all relative. Some people may live where its completely flat, I do not. I can almost maintain the speed limit going up a 5 mile 6% grade towing 3,500lbs, I'm happy with that. No way it would be able to do that with the stock gears, even with my small tires.

hi, i have an 04 limited and i wanna install arb air lockers, i plan on going from a 235/70R16 to a 265/65R17. should i regear to accommodate the bigger tires when i install the locker or should i regear first? i haven't ordered my locker yet but my new wheel set up is on its way

Regear if you can afford it and plan to keep the vehicle. From what I've read it should pay for itself in gas in a short time. It's not a cheap upgrade, and not one that many choose to attempt in their garage at home.
