Have to keep replacing both front cv axles on jeep liberty

I have a 2003 jeep liberty and I keep goin through front cv axles. The inner boots keep ripping open and there new when I put them on.they maybe last about 4 months roughly each time I replace the cv axle.my passenger side ive had to change out the intermediate axle shaft a couple times too coz the splines got right messed up and it's starting to do it again

If you are not using the napa remanufactured axles, that is likely your problem. Some are made too short. Also check the bearings inside the diff case for slop. Are you lifted? How much?

No lift. It looks like my jeep is too low how the angle of the axle is.
Maybe your springs are tired? Have you measured the height? Go from the center of the hub to the underside of the fender flare on each wheel. Stock height is 19”. Mine is at 18” and nothing looks odd about the axle.

The boots rubbing will do it. Your jeep is technically lowered at that height.

You might be able to get away with just upgrading the front clevis fork to a jeep liberty KK 08,09 or 2011 one because it will give you a .75 lift with the 08 and 09 and a 1in lift with the 2011 one. More have done the 08,09-year swap on a kJ as the forks are made differently one is stamped and one is cast. I don't have any personal experience but will look into it more in-depth this summer. There are several forms on this along with how you have to get the napa remanufactured axles. Might be cheaper than getting a lift or you could combine this with a lift.

My 2003 KJ has the same problem. Most KJs I see have some or a lot of front sag. Probably from weak factory springs, but also from collapsed bushings. I got some of my height back by replacing the bushings where the clevis attaches to the control arm, maybe 1/2", but it's still 2" too low.

Any mods that add weight to the front (like a winch) make it much worse. I added around 90 lbs (a plow mount) to mine and now the front end bottoms out on the smallest road imperfections.

Cheap spacer lifts would get the axles straighter, but would not improve the wheel travel - it would still crash over bumps.

Duderz7 has it right - stiffer springs is really the solution.

I've heard that the diesel KJs came with stiffer springs because its engine was heavier than the 3.7, but junkyard diesel springs are also 20 years old.

Does anyone make coilovers?

Saw a youtube video with similar problem, believe it was Southmainauto. With regards to attaching inner CV shaft to front diff and not pushing it in far enough for C-Clip near lip of shaft to lock onto front diffs male/female shaft. Good luck

Yeah, many aftermarket CV’s (including the “brand new” ones are a hair too short and won’t engage the c clips. Napa remanufactured CV’s (noted by duderz7 above) are the right length.

Just trying to find the video. What kind of vehicle was it on if u can remember?
