I have been doing some digging as one does when they are considering lifting their Jeep. I do not want to go the cheap spacer route as I understand the damage it does to the related components, and I am also not wanting to break the bank on OME and Bilstein equipment as I couldn't justify the expense for how little use it may get. I think I have come up with somewhat of a middle ground and I thought I would share my plan to get some feedback. I will attach pictures of the parts I am planning on using as it is a bit of a conglomeration. For the front I plan to use the loaded Rough Country struts for a 2.5" lift. I saw that they list these parts as only for KK's but KK and KJ front struts are identical so it should be fine. I will be pairing these with the RRO front upper control arms designed for lifts. For the rear I am keeping it simple with 1.5" spacers to hopefully keep the front rake away but still get some lift in the rear. I will also be using the Rough country extended struts for the rear.

My main question is if anyone has used these Rough Country KK struts on a KJ. I am not sure why they list them as KK only since the parts are identical so if anyone knows of any issues there please let me know!

Total junk , but if you have plenty of cash to do it right in a month or two go for it
Shocks, no struts
and those shocks are very weak
I refuse to even think about installing any spacer lift , no matter how much they are willing to pay . Not worth having a unsatisfied customer
Same with RRO UCAs
last set we tried to install for a customer they would not even fit
We called RRO, they said it was our fault LOL
Called JBA they overnighted a set and they went right in no issues

I have at least one set of every spacer lift available piled in the junk pile that I have removed for a real OME lift

I can understand the want to steer clear of a spacer lift on the front but why the back? If i combine the spacer with an extended shock doesn't it change the suspension geometry in essentially the same way?

RRO sells a full length spring for the back fyi and an extra iso and you're good to go or dont but their rear springs are well made and handle a beating ,you got some option bud ,people on this forum hate on RRO but they been around for a long time and from personal experience their customer service is excellent

Yeah I was thinking about just doing the RRO front struts for the kk and then the kj rear kit from rro. It’s a bit more pricy but may be worth it

Oh dear , oh well you will find out for yourself
and with mixing spacer lifts/ full spring, would you run a marathon with one brand new running shoe and one you have had 10 mowing the grass with ? Same thing
PLUS lots of bad companies out there who are still in business
Look up complaints on them on line
They have owed some friends of mine for returned parts that did not fit since 2004
If they were the only lift company I would be forced to drive stock. Thankfully there are plenty of other VERY GOOD companies out there and that is where I get all of my lift parts for me and customers KJs/KKs

I think I am going to go with the loaded springs and struts from rough country on the front but for the back as I do respect your experience on this matter I may do the OME 1.5" springs for the rear with Rough country struts instead of any spacers.
