Newbie Here, just saying hi

Been lurking for awhile, decided to make my presence known. I am in the Davenport Iowa area. Just an old guy with a Jeep interest, tho been Cherokee so far. Came into a 2002 Jeep Liberty Limited on CoPart for next to nothing. Not running at this point, more coolant in the oil pan than in the radiator and quite seized. There are a lot of items in this rig than I am familiar with, like that tiny box with the antenna next to the mirror on the windshield ( what the ...? ). My older Cherokees didn't have anything like that,

What are your plans for the Jeep, engine from another 2002 donor ++?
Not sure what that antenna box is about. Any product markings on it that may give a clue?
Must be aftermarket install of some sort.

Well, Outside of the drivers side rocker panel, there is very little rust. So I have ordered a used motor from some salvage yard in Morganstown, WV who was willing to put a warranty on it for a fair price. It'll go in and drive it for the winter. Gotta be better than a 97 2WD ford ranger out of 1997 with 256,012 miles. No marking on that little box and I didn't get any key fob or remote with the rig.

What year motor are you getting
There are changes in different model years that make it a little harder to swap

the folks insist that is out of a 2002, but, I'll waste an oil pan gasket and make sure of the tooth count on the reluctor/tone wheel. My luck always seems to go sideways. We will see Wednesday when Estes Freight get here.
