Got underneath and removed the old trans oil pan, which was held on with 3 bolts til l got the new pan. Changed the filter, then added fluid.

Then went to work.

Tomorrow I'll run it til the temp is 160 degrees and add til it's like 44 mm

I ordered some yellow LED fog lights to try out. I also got a headlight resto kit to get some of the junk off of my lamps. Not much going on with this rig. I'm putting more time into my '68 cougar, right now.

Got the Autel MK808 registered. Had to go looking for wifi, of which there is not much around here. Small town.

My wifi doesn't work as I managed to lock it and can't get it to reopen.

Put the MK808 on the Jeep, and couldn't find transmission temperature anywhere. Just looking in the wrong place, maybe, I'll have to read more in the instruction book as to how to do that. It should read it. It gives 100 other readings.

And a lot of faults.

Some of which I knew about like radio fault. Yes, I don't have the satellite subscription needed to run it from the satellite, which I don't need and don't want.

Tried to read the atf level, after the new filter and new pan. The fluid is so new and clean it won't show up on the stick. I did read that I should be putting in about 7.4 quarts and I suppose I took out a little less than that, but not much less.

And I have probably put in about 7.4 quarts but I didn't measure what was going in. Just approximated.

Cleaned the interior entirely. I had to return two dead trees for replacement and I had more dirt inside than I have ever had outside. (Which is saying something.) I also rotated the tires. While putting them back on my nuts turned red. Just thought you should know.

I put the Autel MK808 back on and drove a bit.

At overnight rest the trans fluid was about 90mm.

Then I drove for 20 blocks or so and managed to find the temperatures on the display for both engine and transmission. Engine got up to 208 and probably ran there on city streets. Parked at idle it would go to 217 and the fan would come on and take it back down to about 208.

It was reporting 208 which may or may not be very exact.

The transmission finally after driving and then sitting at idle got to only 122. That was max for running 1/2 hour. And at that point the fluid read 40 mm or so. Still hard to tell since the fluid is so new and transparent or opaque.

Was nice and sunny and warm but rain is scheduled for this afternoon. So I don't know when I'll get back to it. All I can conclude at this time is that the fluid is either too low or too high.

I had checked it before opening the pan and found it was at about 40mm.

I wonder if the MK808 can read oil level. Or trans fluid level. It has a lot of "data" so maybe that's next. Check for it's opinion, if it has one.

Had a awesome time in Moab and met up with some TJ folks.
I will have to go through and sort pictures, but here are some starters.
Trails we did:
-Hurrah Pass and Chicken Corners
-Schafer Switchback and Potash Road
-Fins and Things
-Hell's Revenge (Didn't use any of the easy bypasses, but did not do the optional obstacles)
-Top of the World

Should probably get that looked at...or maybe I've been doing it all wrong, in the wrong attire too?

Discovered my custom water and graywater tanks are useless as the manufacturer apparently cannot read blueprints...so got my money back and am building them out of 6” pvc pipe instead.

works out as was able to solve weight balancing issues and increase water volume to a full 32 gallons and still have storage space under the flat floor...and all gravity/pneumatic fed, so no need for a pump!

I would love to figure out a (set of ?) auxiliary fuel tank(s) under the jeep. would be awesome to have for either extended range or for transporting race fuel for the car when I go to the track.
