On Tuesday I had jacked up the front and put jack stands under it.

Wed, Thurs and Friday were cloudy and rainy so I didn't get under it.

Today was sunny with some clouds, a little warmer, but a very cold wind. But I got under there and took off the transmission oil pan. Of course slopped trans fluid all around, the wind blowing some of it. And, looking at the pan, there was some serious surface rust that had started with a big scratch on the pan, under the powder coat or whatever the original was. It was solid but deeply dimpled. I decided to just replace it. I have a tiny can of heat res. POR15. But I decided a new Mopar pan was the best bet. So ordered one and cleaned the old pan a bit and put it back on with two bolts. Just to keep dirt and cat or other animal hair out of the box.

I'll finish up when the new pan gets here.

Put on the battery charger. I don't need it if I drive it daily. But I never intended to do that. Only did it for almost a month when needed. Thanks to these 4 legged forest rats around here that don't know enough to stay off the highways.

Still haven't washed and waxed the Jeep. Maybe I can get to that tomorrow, as it has little water spots all over from the recent drizzle.

I changed a front turn signal bulb yesterday. I also filled up after work and saw some yahoo fleeing from police on a really slow dirt bike. He got caught and was on a stolen bike while high on ****.

Ran it through the laser wash. Also brought home a tree for the back yard. Now it is the inside which is covered in mud and not the outside.

Put on a set of Mastercraft Stratus APs, made by Cooper. They are not full AT tires, but have a more beefy tread than a standard light truck tire. I have good hopes for them being a nice tire for the Jeep, given that all the 4 wheeling this jeep sees is up boat launch ramps and bad weather.

did someone use Core4x4 control arms from Grand-Cherokee WK?
https://www.core4x4.com/model/jeep-grand-cherokee-wk/

Yes I run
Rear Lower T1 Grand Cherokee WJ 1999-2004 on my 2003
$179.99 – $189.99

You have to crank them down almost as short as they will go but works great
Bolt right in
I have the poly bushings as well that are greaseable
With the JBA bolt on rear tri link and the Core it makes a world of difference

I might be confused. Do these things NOT have 4 separate fluid circuits, especially the 07's?
I'd have thought it'd have to, to have 4 channel ABS.
Then again, the bulk of my "experience" is on FWD cars, so I fully recognize there could be a grand canyon sized hole in my knowledge. :D

If you have a fault in the circuit, like mine, you get NO channel ABS :D

I found my power steering leak. The little hoop deal behind the headlight is squirting fluid. New hose should be here tomorrow or Saturday.

I decided that my starter needs to be replaced.
I'm getting the typical "click" then after bumping the key a few times, it starts.

Any recommendations on a reliable Rebuilt or New starter?

My 2002 just rolled over to 150,000 miles today, so wondering if others here got more mileage out of the original starters. If so, a tested good used one may be the way to go ???

Disconnect the Battery completely!

Take the Starter Motor apart...clean the Solenoid contacts and lightly clean the commutator.

Check bearings/bushes for wear.

Check the brushes for wear.

Lightly lubricate any moving parts!;)

I have not done this on my Jeep but have had success doing this on many of my previous vehicles!:)

Thanks for the input!

Billwill, I may just try taking it apart and cleaning it. Maybe I could get one of the local auto parts stores to test it out for me before I wrestle in back on! Thanks for outlining the steps involved.
