Hey guys I was just wondering what the Aa,AB,AC etc at the end of a part numbers means. I am looking at ordering a pair of window mechanisms from Rock Auto. Their listings for the part numbers all end in AA. The local dealership quoted me part numbers that all end in AB. Same numbers just different letters. What’s the deal, will they still fit?

AB is a slightly more modern version of the same part, which superseded AA. It does the same thing and is most likely almost entirely the same. I just installed an engine hose with a part number that ended in AF. It was a different shape but fit better than the original.

Ah ok makes sense. Rock auto sells the AA and they must be a copy of the original part where Chrysler sold a AB which is the new improved version which has been discontinued.

Hope this helps. :)
Thanks for the links. The Steiger won’t help me as it is my tubes that are all broken.

Now if we could just find out how to source those plastic tubes ///

Gotta be something common.
Yes I thought of that too or installing one over top but they are glued into the fittings and for the price of a new one it’s not really worth it to try and fix it.

when you are as cheap as i am, those tubes gotta be something. Like, maybe, polyethylene / propylene tubing.
