Girlfriend went out of town and my truck is away, so I get the Jeep for a week. Started off by doing a fluid inspection, and found a rather large animals nest right on top of the intake manifold. Somethin made a nice home there, Cleaned that off.

Checked coolant, good. Checked oil, needed to add half a quart. Checked windshield washer fluid, good. Checked brake fluid, good. Checked power steering fluid, good.

Replaced serpentine belt and tensioner since I had a spare in the garage forever.

Replaced PCV valve behind drivers side valve cover, proceeded to rip rubber boot between PCV valve and hardline. Fixed with a section of 5/8" hose stuffed into a section of 1/2" hose to make an adapter until I can find correct boot.

Held together on the way home for the short ride from my shop. Since the PCV system isn't too heavily pressurized I dont see it blowing apart.

@MarksmanAkula, I was going to do the PCV valve today but saw reports of those rubber elbows disintegrating when the hose was removed from the PCV. Ordered a new hose, part number 53032993AD for my 08. AD was superseded by -AF so I got that instead. $20 on eBay for Mopar. Unfortunately the rubber elbows do not come separately from the hard line.

I’ll be tearing the rear driver’s brake apart tomorrow. The parking shoes are making a ton of noise. I also can’t get them adjusted properly. I’m tempted to just junk the whole system.

Yup thats exactly what happened. Went to go grab the hose and it ripped in two. Will the part # you posted above work for an 07 Liberty?

According to the Mopar parts websites, yes.

I am also seeing that it routes differently than the original, going over the top of the throttle body instead of under it.

The parking brake seems to hold, now. There's something faulty on the driver's side. It doesn't engage at all, no matter how it's adjusted. The passenger side works well, though. I'll call it a win for the day.

When you get it please report back if it worked for you or not. If it does i will replace my janky setup for a proper MOPAR hose.

Spot lights you installed on the windshield pillars
many of them were never hooked up and they even sold ones years later that were dummy spots

Appleton spotlight
Appleton spotlights, or simply Appletons, were a common feature in early automobiles, up to the "muscle car" era. The bullet-shaped spotlights included a handle which was mounted through the side window pillar of the cab into the interior of the vehicle.Wikipedia

Drove to work. Well, I am going to drive to work.

Drove to work yesterday, and calculated my mpg based on the last fill up. 22.9 mpg. Not too bad for the beast. But that was at 50 or 60 mph going to the big city and the junkyard. Which was at least part of why I got there 15 minutes after someone else was taking off the hood I needed for my car.

It's all about learning.

Yes, getting them compressed and assembled. NO WAY in hell I'm gonna do it myself. I like living.

^ That's where I had mine done. But I would call and make sure.

Full disclosure: I would not get any major repairs done there - too many issues in the past with a previous vehicle. But when I was getting the lift going they were literally right next door to the apartment I was living in and I took a chance. In this case, dropping off a box of parts to be assembled allowed me to inspect everything before I left the shop. (And like I said, they "forgot" something on the first try...)

Ordered from Quadratec... very disappointed. Nothing about the process was easy.
They listed inventory being “in stock”. Then sent email saying not in stock. Called and spoke to Matt , explained - showed him multiple parts in my order say in stock but are not. He found something that was abs changed my order

that item was not sent and another phone call confirms that item was not in stock as well.
Soo. Yea. Probably not a good company ?

But sourced the rest of my parts locally and paid a bit more. Soon I will see if I can get my clunks eliminated and drippy seals cleared up !

Never had any issues with them in all the years I've dealt with them
Sounds like you were dealing with Rock Auto instead of Quadratec

Hahaha yea. I don’t do rock auto for ANY part that I wish to have an actual warranty on. I just use them for throwaway parts aka wiper blades etc

Honestly ordering from Quadratec was a sh!tshow. I have to call again Monday as I still have not been refunded for the 2 seals they did not send but canceled
