Had my new OME struts assembled and noticed there wasn't a washer included with the new mounts (moog)
So they are assembled without one
I'm second guessing if this will be an issue or not ?

No, there needs to be a washer. Otherwise it'll tear the bushing out of the mount and that's not a pleasant experience! Been there done that. How do the Moog mounts look? I replaced my busted ones with Mopar ones.

I have an extra new washer if you need it, never used it. It's PN 52089069AA. Just PM me an address and it's yours.

Well that *****. Everything is torn down
Not too happy the new mount didn't come with the washer. Wonder why the shop didn't mention it but I noticed right away something didn't look right

The washer may still be there but they assembled it incorrectly and put the washer underneath when it needs to be up top.

The washer comes with the mount but they could have used the old one at least.

The Mopar ones don't come with new hardware either. I had to reuse my old hardware.

x2 on what tjkj said. Should be easy enough to look under there without them being in the Jeep. I hope that the nut being tightened without it didn't distort the mount. Make sure the bushing is still firmly in place.

My offer still stands if you can't find your old ones! At least you'll only have to buy one.

Thanks for the offer man. I really appreciate it.

I knew it didn't look right and FYI no hardware came with the mount. I just went to the store and asked for another one to check.
That's what I get for handing over parts without double checking.

When I did mine I believe the bilstein shock came with the hardware including the washer, the mount didn't come with anything.

Hey live and learn right?
I ended up using my own spring compressors. (Wasted money I know)
Just had to pry the coils apart a bit to get them to fit.
Re using the stock ones. I was expecting to craigslisted the old ones, but probably getting tossed out now.
You guys are a great help. Next step is to find out the specs for the lower control arm bushing. I need to know how far in to press the bushing so I can make it even on both sides

I think I remember the washer coming with the shock, not the mount. I could be wrong though. It's been a while.

No kidding. Figured it would save me time. It cost me both time to tear down the stockers and re do the new ones plus the money I paid out. Never again

Got mine preassembled from Rocky Road with OME Springs. No washers on top. Ended up yanking the strut through the mount while high up in the mountains. Bought a replacement Mount from Napa and it came with a washer. Had the shop guy reassemble the new set up with the washer on top. Now I get the shock topping out occasionally. Rocky Road refunded the cost of the new part and some of the labor.

Happens a lot. I made the same mistake when doing my H&R lift. Told my brother about it, a professional mechanic for decades that's owned a few garages, and he said he's seen the same mistake made by professional mechanic soooo many times over the years. At least you caught it before you assembled everything. I wasn't so lucky. Ordered new top mounts that came with the washer, some do, and everything's been good to go ever since.

I know its an its an old thread, but if you still have one kicking around, I'd really appreciate it. Can't seem to find it online anywhere and rockauto send me one of the mounts missing the retainer/washer.

Thanks!
