So what do you all think? I picked up a set of tires and 8” wheels from a WJ, added a 1.25” adapter and the tires stick out 3.5” past the fenders. Too much? I may add a 2-2.5” lift at some point but can I run these for now? I did pull the other plastic inner liners for now.

TOO WIDE
Even with a 2.5 inch full spring lift
Just not enough room unless you will only drive a straight line, even then , oh well

Yeah finding that out but I’ll add the lift and while fitting an Unlimited front bumper I will trim the fenders. And by the time I figure out all that doesn’t work I’ll have my 4Runner done and can just scrap the Liberty. Haha!

You would need more lift than what you can buy anymore to run those wheels etc
and to scrap the liberty, just give it to me and be done instead of tearing it up
adding a whatever front bumper will in no way help

No the bumper won’t help with the tires but is the opportunity to trim the fenders. And yes finding there isn’t much aftermarket support for these shitboxes anymore. Unlike the Yota shitboxes. Anyway I’ll figure something out. Thanks.

There is just no way to make them work if they stick out that far
no matter what you do
Trimming the flares will not open up any more room when turning, plus looks terrible
You can only pound over the pinch weld, can not remove it since it is structural

and ????????

not showing as wide as wheels as you want to run

It is not the height of the flares, it is the turning radius when you turn one way or the other which is what will give you issues

Totally get it’s a one off custom. I was only looking at the fender modification. Showing that they can be cut and I don’t think they look bad. But that’s an opinion. If I mount a different bumper and cut the front of the fender that would clear the front tires. I mounted the tires and they only appear to be rubbing the front of the fenders at full lock. Maybe won’t work for rock crawling but for the beach and logging/fire roads I think it’s fine.

But I’m actually going back to the stock rims for now until I have time for the other mods.
