Asking for a friend (yes for real). Replaced the lifters due to ticking and now there’s a clacking sound. No noticeable vibrations. Any ideas? Doesn’t sound like lower end.

Did you get all the rocker arms snapped back in properly? That would be my first check

First why did you have to replace the lifters? just ticking sound, nothing more ?
second, was there any noise at all before hand ?
How many miles on motor?

He replaced them due to ticking. There was no other noise. I’m unsure of miles but can check.
