Tensioners on all of mine get changed every 65,000 - 70,000 miles and belts about the same ( or before )
Too many 2-3-5 AM calls from friends broke down with either belt broke, tensioner fell apart or something similar for me to wait longer

I always do it on a schedule, but somehow missed it on the Jeep.

I keep a spare belt in the back, just in case, but not a spare tensioner.

It was January 2015. You know, back when we could go places and do things and didn't have to wear a mask everywhere. My water pump was leaking and it was 4 degrees F outside. I got the water pump replaced and naturally had the tensioner off in order to do that. Then that spring, once it was warm, I was checking under the hood one day and saw that my belt was about as wide as a shoestring. I also had had my battery die that winter and I figured getting the tensioner replaced would not be a bad idea. I could not get that sucker off to save my life. Ended up rounding the bolt head out. Bought a set of damaged bolt extractors but got nowhere with that. Finally got fed up and decided to take a break from it for a few days, then try again. Five years later, and here I am.

You may heap scorn upon me. I know I deserve it... :(

Put 4 new tires on her.

I was driving around yesterday morning and it felt like I was getting pushed around by the wind. Turns out my back passenger tire had something in it, and since it was pretty low tread to begin with, I decided to replace them all, so I don't have to worry about that for a few more years.

Few more years ??
Every year to year and a half I'm buying at least two sets
But then maybe I drive a whole bunch more than you ;)

Today I got an alignment.

You can see it got better, but it’s not perfect. Not sure that’s even possible with being lifted 4”. Tom, did you ever get an alignment report that was all green since your Jeeps were stock? I know you have to sacrifice some caster to get the camber and toe in or close to spec.

Now, I can tell you, the road manners have definitely improved. Less unwanted traction control engagement on slow in-town bumpy corners. My steering wheel is centered now instead of being a little to the left when I am driving straight. This alignment plus the two new wheel bearings have made it feel like a new Jeep again.

I tend to drive them till they become racing slicks. The tires on my Dodge would sometimes go past the steel belting:

That was my front driver tire, which always ate tires ever since I fell asleep behind the wheel and hit a curb.

As it was, the tires on her were from when I bought her in Feb'18, and one had a slow leak anyway.

Congrats!

I used mine to go to NAPA and buy parts for my daughter's '00 Xterra. She 'forgot' to tell us about the front end noise until she needed a tow home from DC - a week later.

Yep, driver's inner pad wore down to metal then slipped out and got stuck between the rotor and the backing plate. The pistons were rubbing on the rotor. And then the truck pulled hard when she tried to drive. So new calipers, rotors, pads, wheel bearing seals, and the front shocks were rotting away so might as well do that when we're in that far.

Kids.

Never in my owning cars for 50 years have I ever ran one like that.
I tend to replace them before or when nearing the wear bars

Well let me take one thing back, I have burnt them down to looking like that but was on another set of wheels just for doing burnout competitions ;) :)
