hello

recently i had to change my tires- and the shop did a bad job mounting the spare- they ruined the threads. they were super nice and they want to pay for new lug nuts and all that.

an american kj has a different spare tire mount than a euro kj- while american kj's have the spare just hanging on the back, the euro kj has a plastic flap that goes around it and holds the license plate and lights for the plate (it also restricts the spare tire size btw). so- a euro kj, my kj, has 3 lug nuts on the spare: one is the locking nut that american kj's have- and the other two are "long lug nuts" that have an inner thread and a regular thread. the inner thread is used for a bolt that goes into the lug nut and is used to secure the license plate holder (american spec kj's have a bumper held plate-euro kj's have a spare wheel mounted plate)

so anyways- i started to look for the specific lug nut that's used for holding the rear plastic flap-cant find it. There are lots of locking nuts but i need the other kind. because this is not a US type lug nut- i cant find a mopar part number. any ideas?

Yeah in South Africa we have the same setup.

Can you not get an Engineering Firm repair the damage on the nuts or make a new one for you?

Or else you need to visit Breaker yards to try find one.;)

Try the Parts Fiches here....to some extent they do cover the Export models but these Fiches are painful to go through:

hello- thanx for the advice. we dont have many broken up liberty's- most folks here drive wranglers. I actually did quite a bit of work in cape town- i have seen quite a few liberty's with "mickey mouse" roof lights. I found the screw- it is an "export wheel nut"- 06036303AA.

thanx!
