So the other day I went to adjust the seat back on the driver's seat and the handle snapped off clean- both the little metal "ears" that fit into the plastic handle broke off, along with the mounting screw. Anyone had this issue and have a good fix for it?

I put it in the best position using a pair of vise-grips, so I guess at least for me driving it it's fine- but it would be nice to have it working as designed..

Mine broke a few years ago, but it was the splined shaft on the recliner mechanism that sheared off. Just got a new one from the dealer.

I also bought an 03 Sport with a broken lever. Are they any videos or instructions to replace this?

i bought mine already broken i went to the junk yard got a whole new to me seat wrong color and stained up but i didnt care as i wanted the adjustment lever i can tell you this mine is an 02 sport and the seat i got came out of an 04 limited with manual seats and the adjusters are a little different but still fit together you just got to take your seat out and take the bottom off then unclip the seat back seat cover at the bottom and peal it up some to get to the mounting bolts the undue them and then reinstall the good one from the junk yard then either sell the rest of the junkyard seat or do like i did toss it in the trash cause thats what it was. from what i have read on some other sites the 04 and up seem to have stronger metal in the reclining adjuster i do know that the metals looked different from my 02 to the one i pulled off the 04 i got the whole thing for 30 bucks at the junkyard the dealership wanted 115 for just the adjuster so bam bobs your uncle

Pull the cover off, with vise grips you can set it where you want it and leave it alone. My 04 is broken like that. Set and forget.

You pull the cable and do one side at a time, a notch or two. Then test fit it.

Sure seems to be a common problem. It's broken on my daughter's KJ also. I found this video on Youtube.

Mine has been like this since I bought it. I drove it around with the plastic trim off for a few days and used a screwdriver to move the adjustment lever and adjust until I found just the right position then threw it back together and forgot about it. Not really a "fix" but it works and how often do you really need to adjust your seat once you get it right?
