I got the 7 pin trailer wiring harness from a junk yard with the hitch. I need to know what colors are for what and where to connect them on the tail light any help is greatly appreciated I have a 08 jeep liberty

From "Boater's Pocket Reference":
White = common ground
Red = left turn and stop
Brown = right turn and stop
Green = tail lights and license
Blue = electric brake
Black = battery charge
Yellow = auxilliary
Looking at the hitch end of the connector and going clockwise from one-o-clock the contact/wire colors are: Black, Brown, Blue, White, Red, Green, and Yellow in the center.
My '05 KJ had a white with blue stripe wire for the electric brake.
Look into a plug and play harness that uses the existing connectors on your lights and oem wiring. Much better than many types of splices. U-Haul or E-Trailer might have them.

Computerized module environment. Please don't go trying to splice anything in, when the correct harnesses/plug & play solutions are available for the kJ & KK.
The wrong load/ short or incorrect wire placement could= a very bad day.
Always disconnect your battery before doing any electrical work.

Few comments: IDK why they supplied a black wire to the+ battery, when it should be red.
Possibly consider adding some split wire loom tubing over top, to further protect the black wire running all the way to battery.
Also the butt connectors, I'd prefer to place heat shrink tubing, then solder the wires together for a much more reliable /waterproof connection.
The auto heat shrink tubing is ok.
The best sealing heat shrink tubing is a marine grade made by Ancor.

I was having problems with the brake and turn signal wiring to a Uhaul trailer because they use separate brake and turn signal feeds/lines... I bought this to convert jeep wiring to left/right/brake...
(Hoppy Tail Light Converter 48845)... problem solved
