Still no response on the other site. 45 Views and not a peep from anyone. I even asked what a fair price would be and got no response. Legitimate posts seem to be lost under an avalanche of spammers over there. LOST may be lost. Could be everyone's driven deep into the woods and mountains socially isolating in their underground bunkers. I've been isolating on youtube watching the disaster unfold like a B-movie.

I'm off to the shop to light a fire, bend my knees backward, bleed my knuckles, and learn new words. I'll take a look at my book and see if it has any tips about injector tips.

All fog, rain, mud, and rotton snow here today.

I looked up injectors in the service manual, volume 2, section 14, pages 82-85.

The tip is the least complex part so a new one might make yours useable again. There are seven holes in it.

The book goes on about a circled number, (1,2,or3), on the injector which indicates the quantity class of the injector. That's hokum as the only circled number in the example, (fig 13), and on my injector, is "60". It goes on about using a computer to identify the injector to the jeep's computer by a six digit alpha-numeric identifier on the injector which must have the quantity info in it. I'm guessing the last number; 1 on the example and my injector. I didn't look at my other three injectors because, I'm lazy. I'll let you know if they're not all #1 someday when I put them in.

Never-seize on the shank of the injector, but not the tip. New bolts are recommended along with the copper seal and o-ring. Torque to 32.4 N.m, or whatever the mysterious foot-pound equivalent might be.

Last line in the section, verbatim, "Inspaect for leaks.".

Hope that helps.

I looked at all 4 of my injectors and my theory of quantity classification is as bogus as the book. I've listed my alphanumeric codes below for your gifted analysis:

#1 8AING5
#2 8ARRZ1
#3 78SIF5
#4 8HSZ55

There are other numbers on the injectors but none that are alphanumeric. These codes are the only data the book says to input into the jeep computer so they must be encrypted to hide the simple truth. Perhaps GCHQ can lend a hand.

According to youtube's Julia Lundy,(she writes backwards better than I write forward), 32.4 Nm works out to 23.89824 lb ft of torque without any consideration of Samson force, whatever that might be.

I miss Gorilla shelves and the purity of their "Assemble with hammer." instructions.

Thanks mate, just awaiting the new nozzles. Been really I'll last couple of weeks, thankfully not the covid *****. Just a bad cold, so the usual man flu scenario. Anyway back to normal now and starting to build a go cart from an old quad bike and a Briggs and strat engine I've found loading about. Once my nozzles arrive, hopefully we should be in business. I'll let you know, but again thank you so much for the research. I will take note and go along the flow you suggest.

Your a star mate..take care

Nice to hear you're well again. Had me worried as I watch the numbers climb.

200 Views on my injector post but nobody wants to part with any. My guess is folks with extras keep them as a set with the computer.

I might have to take the intake/cam cover back off of mine since the cams seem to have settled aft a bit and the alignment holes won't take the pins. I must have hurt its' feelings somehow. It can wait for a rainy day. I have a lot of tree work to do before the bugs show up and the grass grows tall.

Thanks for your concern, really appreciated. My 2 daughters and sister in law have been in the thick of it on the front line medical side. Tough times and so much worse than I even imagined. To be honest, the flu I had really kicked the hell out of me and am only just getting back to normal fitness. All K can say though is thank God that's all it was!!

Got the nozzles today, but like you, it can wait. Not going anywhere as we are not allowed....like you also, got so much to do in the garden. Quite therapeutic after kicking hell out the car

Take care bud

I'll prob sort at some point this week.
