Not sure where to start with the removal of the tow package the previous owner used to tow my Liberty behind his RV. I thought it would be a few bolts but it looks just a little complicated. Anyone deal with one of these before that can clue me in?

I put one on. The two long bolts that mount the main plate to the crossmember and the steering rack should be dealt with one at a time to keep the steering rack positioned properly. I think they are longer than the original bolts. You could just leave that part on. Nuts on those bolts are red locktightened.

I think the other components just bolt on.

Main crossmember plate.
2 Support straps.
Middle strap (bent).
2 Reciever brackets.

I'll look for the destructions and let you know of anything else.

Why take it off?

I think I want to add a brush guard, I wont be towing it most likely ever. I can sell it for something and put the cash towards the brush guard.

I wouldn't put on a brush guard. Most of them actually do a LOT more damage than they prevent, due to the way they mount. If it's not hurting anything, leave the TOAD package installed.

Gotta be some hitch inserts with clevis' (clevi?) to fit. I think they're 1.5" square.

I'll measure them and find the installation destructions if I ever get my mind off of firewood and snow.

Mine had a towbar on it when I bought it. The removal was very simple. If I remember correctly, it was mounted the same spots as factory tow hooks.

I now wish I had left it on and put some clevis hooks on it. The only issues are it was rusting and I did not see a use for it at the time.

yes leaving it on would be a better bet in the long run and attach a clevis to it if needed, stronger than individual tow hooks

The openings are 1.5"x1.5" and I found my installation instructions. If you still want to remove it I can send you a copy although it's mostly a lot of unbolting. Installation is a little more complex.

Put clevis hooks in place of the mounts or use the mounts to add clevis hooks. It’s just rusty and ugly and if I’m not using I don’t want to keep them

I’ve ditched the idea a brush guard. I just find the two square holes ugly hanging out at the front
