I thought you had to swing the AC comp out of the way (or remove the clutch and pulley) and use an 82.5" belt.

The 82.5" was way too big, and the compressor was not cooperating. I also hadn't eaten and was a bit hangry...

Jeep is fixed and running QUIETLY!
I did a big snafu, though. I could not get the compressor high enough for the pulley to not touch the belt. So, I put my puller on it. I cranked, and cranked, and cranked, until the thing popped off. Unfortunately, I did not see the snap ring holding the bearing in until AFTER it sheared the end of the shaft hood off. If a new compressor wasn't in the future before, it is now. The A/C hasn't worked since I bought the vehicle, anyways. Looks like my tax return is not going all to fun, but at least my A/C will work this summer.

I cut the lower part of my bumper away to make room for my new tires and now I’m trying to figure out how to get the old towing package out of the way so I can also install a brush guard.
It gets warm enough for long enough to warrant A/C in MN?

Brought her in for a coolant flush/fill @Jeep to get rid of the green crap that was installed by the shop who replaced my engine. Also getting the trailer hitch and possibly the airbag recall done as well. They wanted $350 to replace the thermostat, so I think I'm just gonna have my regular mechanic do it when I bring it in for an oil change in the next few weeks. Also asked to get something in writing that the wrong coolant was put in, so that if anything happens down the line, I have a paper trail.
In addition, while it was in a nice warm garage, I put some epoxy on the liftglass striker, so it can cure properly b/c it won't be above 50F outside for awhile.
EDIT: Got the wrong coolant in writing, but while I was checking out, I was informed my Oil Light came on when they were driving it into the shop. I know I put a quart in on the 4th, as she's a little overdue for a change, so I added another qt. According to my Dipstick, it's 1/8" over "FULL" but the light is still on. Two steps forward, One step back....
In addition, while it was in a nice warm garage, I put some epoxy on the liftglass striker, so it can cure properly b/c it won't be above 50F outside for awhile.

Think about those brush guards a second time
first you can not have a brush guard and tow hooks since they mount on the same places
next body shops love them since they fold up causing more damage when you hit something
Only brush guard that has tow point built in in the Matrix one, which is no longer made
Over full now, shaking my head , oh well it is your oil sending unit, easy fix, above the oil filter
ask before doing things............................
And make sure when you get the tstat replaced at your normal mechanic they use HOAT. You'll loose most of the coolant.
PLUS USE A MOPAR thermostat, no luck at all with other brands
Replaced at least 12-15 where people had NAPA, Autozone etc and were not working, pop in a MOPAR and works as it should

I just went out and checked after it had been off for ~30 minutes, and she's just under the "Safe" line.

The dealer wanted to add in a qt, but I was driving past a store anyway, so I added it. So it's just a defective sensor, it's not gonna blow up if I drive it into NYC tomorrow for a movie premiere I'm invited to?

Yeah, my normal mechanic is Jeep friendly and knows to use HOAT. What's the best place to get the MOPAR t-stat and housing, so I don't get a counterfeit part? He's already going to be replacing my 02 sensors with some NGK's I bought, but never got around to try to install, since I lost the use of my nice garage after the house fire. And yes, I know air hole at the top for the t-stat thanks to @LibertyTC's helpful infographics
Check rockauto, or just google mopar wholesale parts.

New altrernator (178,000) and while i was at it, new plugs. I was way overdo for plugs - bad Jeepop! I have had the plugs sitting around for over a year.
Also, a while back after she hit a deer, when I went to put on a new grill she wanted to paint it a weird color. We compromised on black, but I used the light metallic khaki to do the grill insert so its a reverse color scheme.
This jeep has been a great first vehicle for her.

Thanks Tom, good things to bring up that I didn't think about. I do want tow hooks, so I guess the brush guard is out. My issue is I have a tow bar there now, which I don't want and have to remove but it looks a little wacky up close. Tons of bolts, and straps that lead to...?

Is it weird RockAuto says the 6817-4083-AA isn't compatible with my 03 Libby?
