So I went local auto store and I had just done a oil change. They were telling me about Liquid Moly MoS2 Friction reducer for the engine that would help reduce ware and improve gas mileage if ive haven't done it before. I wanted to see if anyone has tried it before on their libby and would recommend it. I regally use 5w30 pure syn oil for my oil changes. Would this help any?

Liquimoly is good stuff. May or may not help. Personally, probably unnecessary, but unlike any other brand, it won't hurt to try.

Okay thanks, how did you put it in. I just got a oil change today and put in 5 qts of syn oil. Doesnt have much as far as instructions on it. Do i just put the whole bottle of it with the 5 quarts or do i have to remove a quart of oil to put this in?

This says to "just add it in at oil change time":

More snake oil ???

I have never seen conclusive results for one of these additives, they say it coats the engine with molybdenum to reduce friction giving you better gas mileage and less wear and tear.

We can measure this!

You need to start testing your oil through blackstone labs.

get a couple baseline measurements now before you add anything, then a couple once you have been running it, and we can see what the truth is.

My bet is that it wont hurt your engine, but it wont really help much. Gas mileage should be easy enough to measure (would you notice a 1% improvement though?).

Most of the stuff they put out on many of those different products is pure bunk , IMO!!
But some people think they are the cats meow LOL

I have bought I think 12-13 brand new vehicles in my life, ranging from Fords, GMCs and Jeeps
various motors / sizes ran them all up into the 275-350,000 mile range, with people hounding me to buy them when I got tired of them
Never used anything but really good oil, great filters and changed every 3-4000 miles, guess never seen the case where any of those products would actually help me
