Hello all... I have finally found my liberty. It's an 07, white, sport model. The clock reads 130000. I did get it for a reasonable price at an auction. It was listed as mechanical damage. I couldn't find anything wrong with it. Runs awesome, heat works, shifts well, and no dents or rust.
Now fast forward a couple of days. Every once and awhile it stalls at a stop light. Not all the time. No check engion light. Of course thought it was the iac. But to my surprise 07 was a transition year, so its throttle by wire. I wish the check engine light would come on so I had a code. Any ideas???

Welcome to the forum.
I would be looking more toward fuel delivery. A fuel pressure test and see what the psi readings are, key on, off for 10 minutes etc.
It could be one of the sensors as well, maybe one of the 07 members has some more ideas as well.

Thanks for the reply. Just got back from driving the crap out of it. It never stalled, but did notice a slight stumble a couple of times at stoplights. My thoughts are leaning towards fuel related as well. I was thinking it could be a weak battery, but I dont think that's the case. It was -4F this morning and she fired right up. Hopefully some of the 07 owners have some ideas

Tune up wise, the KJ wants new spark plugs every 30k with correct type & gap.
You must be registered for see images attach

Also at idle, check the alternator output voltage with a VOM what is it reading?
Also get your battery load tested for piece of mind.

Ok so I replaced spark plugs and went ahead and replaced coils. It does seem to run better. It still stalls every once and awhile same as before. still no codes. Cam sensor and crank sensor next?

Battery load test & what is the output voltage? Fuel Pressure test as mentioned before, is it within specs?
I'm not a fan of the parts cannon methodology.
Have a shop scan it and try to get live ignition data readings & from throttle position readings.

I went ahead and took it to a local shop. My scan tool wont link with my new phone. I am also having them do a fuel pressure test. We shall see

I may have made a rookie mistake... I got this jeep at an auction, with a full tank of fuel. I've been having all these problems with an unknown fuel. I have know idea how long this fuel has been in the tank. I did take it down to the local shop. They did a fuel pressure test. 58 psi. Spec they have says 55 + or - 5 psi. So that's good. They did a load test on the battery, all good. Battery is a new napa gold battery. There is no code history. I suspected that. After I got it back from them I filled the tank with fresh 91 octane fuel. I was trying to run the fuel that was in it out, just in case I had to replace fuel pump. Long story short. I just got back from a lot of stop and go driving. It never stalled once. I have come to the conclusion it must have been bad fuel.

Bad fuel, ya that will make the jeep run poorly.
I would go to Wally mart and get a bottle of star brite - star tron .
Add half a bottle.
That will help with bad fuel big time. The jeep will then say thank you! :)

Update... Everything was great for a couple days. Then it finally threw an engine code. Turns out it was the ambient temperature sensor behind the grill. I replaced it. It's fine now. Jeep is for sale

Update ×2 .... everything great last night. This morning engion code and running like poo. Decided not to sell it. Because I can't in good conscience plague someone else with it. I bought a code reader and will update ASAP. Thanks

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a 07? If not I will love to have one for the 06 and the 08. Thanks in advance. I have a new engine code for the other side O2 sensor. My suspicion is a ground. All sensor s are new. Yes they are ngk not Denso (jeep has Denso make them and brands them with a Chrysler fiat number) I will replace with denso in the future.
