So. My driver side door lock finally decided to start screaming everyday now. At this point- I find this video now relevant

Have you tried spraying the lock with fluid film?
Is it cold weather related?
Cool video I posted that a while back and still like watching it.

Yea haha. She got double soaked with Carwell treatment (google it - amazing stuff local to me) and fluid film.

it’s in the electronics of the driver side door lock. Granted this was a junkyard pick but cmon. 1.5 years and screaming again. I have the worst luck

Interestingly enough after the heavy rains and the noisy door hinge, I also noticed today that my drivers door lock was quite tight when using the key to unlock.
Out came the fluid film, sprayed into key hole and a bit from above, now a smooth operation again.
The rain water also came out from the door lower drains, once I opened the door.
Now I begin to wonder if moisture or rainwater from aged door /window seals may be contributing to the lock issues?
I suppose after it gets well below freezing, I'll know more about my driver's door lock as well.
Apparently fluid film does not freeze, but with moisture who knows, time will tell.
