I put an avital 4103L remote start in the 2006 Liberty Renegade and the remote start remote lock works but not the unlock. I have tested the resistor by connecting it to a wire connected to ground and the doors unlock and even switched the wires around so that the unlock button should lock and that works but the lock button should unlock but doesn't. I am about ready to use a relay connected directly to the driver door actuator and bypass this resistor stuff as the service manual shows that it is similar to what Chevy used with door actuators

I'm in the same boat. Don't remember what brand remote start I put in, but the unlock will sometimes work when the Jeep's not running, and that's it. I've just dealt with it for the past year it's been in. It's not a big deal to me to use the key to unlock it.

At least I am not alone, did you use a relay and what ohm resistor? Some info show it needs a relay but since my remote starter gave a negative pulse I figured I could just omit the relay. Some places say a 420 ohm resistor is needed and others show 470. If it warms up I will wire up a relay for the unlock. Still strange that lock works without a relay

I don't remember what ohm resistor(s) I used, or if I even used any relays. I know I was experimenting with the wiring on the relay(s) and different resistors to try to get it to work, but was unsuccessful in doing so. I've just said the h*ll with it and just use the key to unlock.

Ok, so I will be trying a relay at some point as I finally got my new parts for my solder station

Wired up a relay using the same resistor and unlock now works

What resistor and how'd you wire the relay? And in what order? Relay then resistor, or resistor then relay? I need details. :D

I may dive back into it later.

The resistor might be 470 ohm or 390 as they both worked on the tan/blue wire when connected to ground. There are 2 tan/blue wires and you do need to use the smaller one. Wired similar to http://diagrams.marktoonen.nl/DOWNLOADS/14301_LIBERTY_JEEP LIBERTY 1 WIRE ALERT SHELBY UNITS.pdf top picture with just the unlock relay

Relay post 87 connected to chassis ground, post 30 connected to tan/blue through resistor, post 86 connected to remote start - door unlock output, post 85 connected to 12V

Thank you. I may look into mine tomorrow since I'm off from work. That is if I feel like dealing with the 40* weather.
