I had an old Avital 4103L around that I was going to use on my 1996 Chevy truck before the torque converter gave out, you might want to look around and see if something newer has better features. I used the same model on my 04 Sunfire for a few years without issues until the motor went on that. I haven't got a Security bypass on it yet as I live in the middle of nowhere, might put one in next year.
The parking lights and door lock feature work but I haven't been able to get door unlock to work with the correct resistor but I have a wiring diagram and will try with a relay direct to the door lock solenoid and skip the resistor and that isn't a big deal as I have relays around. I did post a question here about the door unlock issue and someone had the same result with the resistor. You can find wiring instructions at bulldogsecurity.com or the12volt.com

I heard the factory add on kit had bad range and a nephew had a KK and the remote start on it just quit working according to him and he never asked me to look at it.
I would avoid bulldog remote start as I have problems with those in the past but companies that are part of DEI are really good
I've done avital and compustar kits in the past. When I did the remote start on the wife's stratus (now, sebring) i used the OEM add-on kit; literally was a plug-n-play affair, and works perfectly. Sadly that kid is long discontinued, and I was lucky recently to find a new SKIM module part so as to transplant it from the Stratus to the Sebring.

What's a tune up on a JK? Making sure the angry birds grill is still on good? Punisher sticker still in tact? Check to make sure the spare is stock and the others are 37s with 3:23 gears? LOL I crack myself up...probably shouldn't quit my day job anytime soon.

This is JK discrimination and stereotyping! Although I agree that I hate what the JK community has become, I can assure you that I have no angry grill, no LED lightbars,no nonsensical stickers (no stickers visible, just a couple in the engine bay) all five of my 35's match, and the battle scars that shows the "car" is used for it's intended purpose. Who will I offend by calling my Jeep a "car"?

Okay looking for help/advice...I've spent the better part of yesterday and all of this morning so far struggling with what I thought would be a relatively easy job of replacing the rear upper control arm on my 07 KJ.

The fun started when the metal piece welded to the pinch bolt head (which is supposed to keep it from spinning while you remove the nut) broke off and the 18mm nut on the other side stripped. So now I'm stuck trying to figure out how to remove this stripped nut and bolt that just spins freely through the differential bracket. I've tried just about everything I can think of...the lack of maneuverability makes it difficult to drill out or to get a cutting wheel in there to just cut it off. I'd appreciate any thoughts/advice from the KJ collective.

I ALWAYS remove the whole bracket from the diff, that way you have it out there in the open and so much easier to see and do what you want.
Just remove whole bracket, cut off the bolt and replace it , simple and easy

But it seems for 98% of the JK owners it's pretty much right on.
You may be a 2% er and actually use your " car " the way it should be but the fact remains.......LOL
One of them yesterday has never been off road, has a light bar above windshield, 18 inch light bar on hood and another 24 inch on the front bumper, none of which have ever been wired up after 2 years. Never driven in snow, on township ( dirt ) roads , so it is a pavement princess

@tommudd you are always so quick to reply - thanks for your expertise as always. I thought about that but the 3 bolts to my bracket aren't easily accessible unless I remove the whole stabilizer bar, and even then the bottom bolt is partially obscured by the driveshaft, so not sure how I would get to it. In any event, I was able to get an oscillating tool blade in that space and cut the pinch bolt, which easily slid free, but now the ball joint stud is stuck in the bracket. ahhhh. never as easy as they make it look on youtube lol

You can get to it by just removing and tossing the balls
Driveshaft is NOT in the way at all
So much easier at least for me that way
So happy I haven't had to deal with tri-links on any of mine for years , Thank you JBA

But somehow I have gotten into replacing a bunch for others

Finally did replace the trans cooler lines. That was a beeeyotch of a job. Installed a Mopar reman starter while I had everything out of the way. Did a pan drop and filter change, too.

Everything is buttoned back up and refilled and working great. And I’m sore.

This should be a great thread that we can keep going. That way we can all keep up with the small day to day tinkering and give some ideas to those looking to do something! Pics are strongly encouraged!!! (Cheers)
Hot start problems .Is it vapor lock, really. Or fuel temp sending unit to determin fuel to air mix ratio .

Installed Fog lights from a donor! Multi-function switch, wiring from behind the grill and lights all from the donor plus a relay on the inside of the fuse block.

Sağ koltuk arkası ayar kolu çalışmıyor
direksiyon mafsalı yapılacak
direnç çalışmıyor, aynalar ısınmıyor.
Akşam efendime gideceğim.
Bakalım ne oldu.:(

I have a few things to do in my car.

Look at the headlamp lever and battery.
speed balancing does not work
Right rear seat adjustment lever does not work
steering knuckle to be made
resistance does not work, mirrors do not heat up.
I'il go to my master tonight.
Let's see what happened. :(

The "car" threw me. I was sure oldu meant jeep since it's the only four letter word.

new or old bolt , flip it around and put something in there like a box wrench or metal scrap. Tighten it down and it expands the pinch clamp.

top (bottom?) coated the section of undercarriage I've been mitigating rust on.
i'll work on other sections as time allows. plan is to just bite off a section, whizzie wheel out the rust, coat with converter (krud kutter. amazing stuff), clean, prime, and paint. it'll take a while to get it all but it's all I can do right now. when the exhaust needs changing I'll do behind it. same with if I have to pull the t-case and/or trans out for some reason. probably will drop the fuel tank in the spring to get up under that area.
going to need to order a new oil pan at some point; previous owner clearly didn't take care of this thing and that pan is so scalely to make an alligator jealous. it's not a matter of if but when it starts to leak I bet.

loaded the now freshly stripped/cleaned/primed/painted/stemmed original steel wheels into the back in the hopes I'll get the call tomorrow that the snow tires are in and ready to be installed. finally managed to find someone who can get me the Cooper Discoverer M+S studded shoes I wanted, in 104S rating. decided against the 115Q "truck" tires.
