2004 liberty, keyless entry.

New to me a few weeks ago. Purchased an additional keyless FOB off Amazon. Couldn't get the Liberty to program the FOB. Was told the key is not a chip key but the remote is. All the programming efforts (getting the vehicle enter the programming mode ie: chirp or beep at me, would not work) I don't think it had anything to do with the FOB. Any help or suggestions for good instructions? I used four different instructions on getting started with one working remote. Besides a dealer would be great (shop rate of 120 is ridiculous).
I also want to turn off the auto lock doors.

The instructions I found online worked for my 2006 Libby and my father's 2018 Patriot. The only thing I can think of is that one of your keys might be a clone

My 2004 KJ is a chip Key with a separate OEM fob.
Another alternative to dealer for programming would be an auto locksmith, they should be able to make it work.
Many auto locksmith's may also have available aftermarket remotes, that they program.

Has anyone found any way to disable the auto lock? I am not above cutting a wire and putting in a toggle switch if needed. I would like it to be a reversible fix if it completely disables electric locks though.
