I installed one ball joint and it went well. The second one feels 'notchy', not smooth. I cranked the press as tight as I could (foot pressure also). I have little experience with this tool.
Sound like a damaged ball joint? Feels weird, not smooth, when you move the ball. Thanks.

Does it feel different then before you installed it? If so don't use it.

What brand?
Did you put it together yet ?
Moog K3199.
I checked another one at Advance Auto, has the same 'notchiness'. You can hear it. My brother (very good mechanic) suggested greasing it. That helped a lot. He feels it's ok, not a concern.

yes, seems the same as another new one. Kind of 'notchy', weird. I expected it to feel smooth, like a tie rod end. Havent done a ball joint in probably 25 years, I guess I forgot how they feel.
