Has been there for quite a while but doesn't seem to be getting worse. I should clarify that it is the front. I have a slight leak but pretty minor and seems to have lessened (fluid level is good). I was under there last night and was just wondering if pulling the front drive shaft would help?

I could pull the two half shafts and intermediate shaft too I guess. Make it a real 2wd temporarily. It's not that bad yet...

Your better off replacing the bearing. I had the smallest leak in my rear diff after about a week maybe a week and a half it decided to end it's life. Thankfully I stopped and didn't continue driving which saved my diff.

Better off spending the say $100 to do it yourself then $1,000+ for a new/used diff.

I'd definitely be more concerned if it was the rear Diff but that one is fine.

I think I'll pull the front driveshaft when I get a chance and see if it helps. If not the front axles will come out until I can get the bearing fixed. I really don't even use the 4wd in my daily commute. Might like it as a 2wd. Give me a better excuse to stick one of those Powertrax no-slips in the rear.
