I bought a clutch kit from Ebay that cost me $38 and change. Came with everything shown but new. The clutch plate is held on by a locknut and you'll have to secure the clutch plate somehow. I used a 3/4 wrench to hold it in place. The clutch plate is just splined on the shaft so i used two flatheads to gently pry it off. After that there's a snap ring that keeps the clutch pulley on. I got an a/c specific puller from az and it removed the pulley. After that there's a bigger snap ring that holds the electromagnet onto the compressor and is oriented by a short... stud, dowel... and just pops off. Install is reverse. Because the clutch pulley bearing mounts directly to the compressor face and not the shaft i just gently tapped it into position using a socket. Whole thing took about an hour. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/192541658125

That’s more then enough info to get it done. Appreciate it.
Not like the numb nuts who claim they can swap rack bushings in an hour only removing the tie rod ends and rack bolts (oh, and the bushings apparently fall right out )

I also have an electric fan so this makes it even more likely to be done soon. Mine isn’t shot but it’s prettt much on its last legs.
I seen you circled a particular spot in red.

Ps. Like to note the fact I noticed I’m not the only one who’s belt doesn’t sit directly in the middle of the water pump pulley.

The circled spot is the back of the electromagnet that clocks it properly. Also.......i really was able to replace my steering rack bushings without removing my rack lol i did remove tie rods and the steering shaft but it sure didn't take an hour lol more like 3 Haha. They were a pita to remove but they did pop right in.

I was hoping ya caught my sarcasm haha
Yea I tried it out and I’ll admit i didn’t have the steering shaft disc’d - but my next issue would have been trying to fumble with a bulky tool to press the bushings in and out

You are correct sir, there's no way i was able to get a press in there but i was able to pry the center steel insert out with a heel bar. After that the old rubber kinda crumbled out with a screwdriver. Of course ymmv cause maybe i got lucky lol. The new Moogs just pushed in tho so that was a bonus.

I’ll have to try it again. These jeeps suck the life outta me and right now free time is very rare.

Had the alignment done on it Saturday and boy it was off! I still cant believe how much better it rides now that I have had that done.

The next few things I want will be a roof rack cage thing and I need to do the front brakes. I'm thinking about getting some slotted and crossed drilled rotors for it.

when I turn either direction at full lock, I can feel/hear what sounds like the outside tire skipping and studdering, as if I were stuck in 4WD (which I'm not.) Any thoughts as to why that would be the case?

KJ's are not anywhere near being a race car, you do not need or want drill and spotted rotors unless it's just for looks

Just the way most IFS is with rear tires pushing the fronts to almost slide

I agree but is a fat pig and mines only 2wd so no off roading a d tge extra stopping power will be nice

You will not get any extra stopping power
drilled and slotted are for cars running 180-200 MPH and braking for turns etc. Again no extra stopping power at all

I got my butt kicked by parking brake shoes today. I'm pretty sure they were original. One side had no material left, and the other was ok. The driver's side gave me hell from the get-go when the rotor was seized to the hub (same on the other side). I adjusted the shoes as far down as I could and still had to beat it with a hammer and WD40 it. I got everything done, adjusted, and found I did not adjust them tight enough. That's a job for tomorrow.

I replaced a bad brake light this morning. I also found where the trailer lights go up into the body, so I'll be able to rip all that out and replace it another day.
