Looking for help with towing a 2003 Liberty, 2wd. I need to tow it about 1 mile. Can I just get a tow bar, but the transmission in neutral and go? I can't get it will all wheels off the ground as I can't get it started. Trying to get it towed to dealership to flash an ECM. Local tow service wants $100 to tow it (on a flat bed) 1 mile. Don't want to spend that much if it's avoidable.

Thank you

Push it out to the curb and call AAA (you have membership, right?) - say it died on you - and have it towed it to nearest shop for free.

I'd use a tow strap and buddy in the dead jeep for steering and brakes. Use neutral.

I'd think 1 mile, auto in neutral, and you'd be fine. otherwise, why not just pull the driveshaft? or at least unbolt the u-joint and strap the back of the shaft up and out of the way?

I think the manual says 15 miles is safe in neutral up to like 35 or 40 mph. I wouldn’t worry about it at all.
