That's what I've heard too and I recently put a couple Timkens on an 01 Subbie that were Toyo (made in India) in a Timken box. One failed in about 20k. Those are a PITA to do since they are pressed into the knuckle.

I'll post back when the Timkens for my truck arrive.

Washed it, inside and out. And I mean REALLY washed it. Spent over three hours do some much-needed catching up.

On a side note, I have discovered that the paint is green and that the interior is not a brown and french-fry color but is actually what some people refer to as "slate gray".

I put a pair of no-names on my KJ never had a problem with the front wheel bearings after that. What did I do to my Jeep today? Broke a few tabs, when I was trying to replace the front bumper bracket, only to find out the bracket I had ordered had vanished and I presume it went straight to the trash and nobody at the house is taking responsibility for it. So now I had to spend money for a new bracket and tabs.

Took the 05 out today
It is mainly a take the elderly parents to church and Doctor vehicle since they can climb in it
But today ran it to see my son in Columbus ( Oh) little 280 round trip
Been a long time since it has hit 80-85

Also drove one of the cleanest 2000 XJs anywhere
I was all over it, no rust anywhere, not even a mud spot under it ( LOL ) never been touched up just regular maintenance, very clean overall, good friend Chris has it now and making it better daily, yes it is a mall crawler for sure

Ran into 2 other Black Libbys today. First was when I came out of Wawa getting my coffee and couldn't figure out why my fob wasn't unlocking it. I got to the drivers door before I saw a red sticker that made me do a once over and noticed there was no light bar or any of my stuff inside. Whoops.

Then on the way home, I saw a 04 Black Liberty Renegade(had trail rated badge) and the only other difference from mine was the spare tire cover that said, in pink, "Silly Boys Jeeps are for Girls".

Cut the hood and put on the hood vents. That's playing Jeep two days in a row!

Got my Timken hub/bearing assemblies for my Ranger today. Not many markings on the larger surfaces but at the actual bearing it's stamped "Timken" and there is a "USA" stamp there too. Doesn't say "made in..." but who knows. If I get the retainers I may try to install tomorrow as long as it isn't 100deg F like today (that's what my EVIC told me).

Not KJ related but I did work on a Jeep I’ve had sitting here for a while now. Also put the flag on the KJ for the 4th.

Got a new muffler installed on the 06 Reny.
13 years/165,500kms on the original.
Gyro
That muffler lasted a good long time, happy to hear you have new one.
Yesterday I was at the muffler shop getting a crack welded up on back side of muffler.
They said it would be a good idea to replace it soon!
I said ya, but I am trying yo get another few years from it!
Then I told him look at the bright side, if it falls off, it may sound really awesome !:)

Well coolant issues seem to be the jeeps favorite way of wasting my time.
Ever since the heater core was replaced , turning and acceleration at low speeds it sounds like a jacuzzi in my dashboard.
I let it run without the cap on. Forgot about it and came out to see coolant boiling over. So yea. Trying to burp it before it boils over and still no luck.

Checked all fluids. All good except needed to top off the coolant reservoir. As for the oil, I bought it with 42,000 miles on it and am now at 95,000 miles. During that entire time I have not once had to add oil between changes. (Knock wood.)

...Then I told him look at the bright side, if it falls off, it may sound really awesome...
My old Tracker's muffler was so bad that when I went down the road little boys would look around to see if they could spot the hot rod. I'd just wave...

Bought a thermostat for it.
Where are you guys finding HOAT coolant? I've checked 3 different stores and they don't have it.
