Hello all. This is my first post on this site since buying my used 06 kj. Hopefully my lift from jba will show up shortly because i need tires. My kj is my daily driver....but i plan on visiting offroad parks hopefully once a month or so. Im looking at either a 235/75/16 or a 245/70/16 tire. Only lt tires i can find are load d or e. Im worried that would make the kj ride harsh so i was looking at xl rated p metric tires....load rating 111 or 112. Im not gonna be wheeling super hard but i wanna make sure my tires are durable enough to handle some offroad use. Last thing i want is to drop 900 to 1200 dollars on tires then my first time at the orv park i blow out a sidewall and realize my new tires i spent all this money on are too weak for offroad use. What do you guys think?

Went with the E's. No regrets... even though it spends 90% of the time on-road.

Have ran Ps on my 04 for over 230,000 miles, the 03 for over 50,000 miles and been off road and all over the farm running over crap.
But then I buy good tires like Duratracs, Wildpeaks etc that have done well even aired down

I have 112 rated P tires in 240/70-16, been off road, over rocks, through branches and logs, everything except crawling through mountains and canyons, and haven't had a blow out yet.

It is just as much about angle of attack, how you approach the object you are driving over, how fast you hit it, how much if any, you've aired down the tires, and how well you drive.

I usually prefer load c, but have p right now on the liberty and grand cherokee. Works fine. No problems
