I've enjoyed my KJ, it's been solid for me. I keep the oil changed, the PO, a former coworker did the same. But, starting to hear some valve chatter and considering down the road replacing the engine to give her new life as I don't do car notes, prefer the ease of wrenching myself which the KJ had been easy thus far.

So when the time comes, what's the best source for a quality REMAN engine? Prefer not to deal with junk yard used as I would be replacing gaskets, seals regardless and the unknown history is a put-off.

Yes PPI seem to have done their homework to provide more reliability & better updated parts.

I'm with you in that my Liberty is in great shape inside and out, has the 45rfe Transmission and I just don't like all the computer crap, engine shutoff at stops and everything else with new cars so doing an engine replacement vs. a new car, car payment, easy choice.

I got mine from Accurate Engines. I don't know if I would give them a glowing review as of yet as even the installer said the engine idled funny and I just had to replace both camshaft and crankshaft sensors because of a P0320 error code and stalling. I've got 6K on it maybe and still evaluating I guess you could say. I did just replace the Idle Air control sensor and that did really help the idle. My gas mileage isn't what it was in the original engine which could be par for a rebuilt, dunno.

They were cheaper than PPI.
