ATF+4, any brand is good. All the same license. It’s the reservoir near the alternator

Check in your glovebox for the manual; there's a slot on top inside where it's stashed. Easily overlooked, or just not there.

Definitely ATF +4 for your Jeep.

The 2002 KJs came out with Mopar Power Steering fluid which is a light yellow.

There was a TSB issued that Mopar Fluid and ATF +4 must not be mixed and early 2002 KJs should have the fluid drained, the system flushed and fluid replaced with ATF +4 at the Dealers.

I have recently bought about 2 Litres of Mopar Power Steering fluid for my 2002 Export CRD as it was never converted to ATF.....I do not trust these Local Dealers do get this conversion right...they are sure to screw something up!

What I do is suck out as much fluid as I can from the Reservoir using a large syringe and tubing....fill it up to the correct Cold Level and repeat in about a years time!

Welcome to the forum.
You can download your 2006 owners manual here: https://carmanuals2.com/get/jeep-liberty-2006-owner-s-manual-31126
If you are having to top up the ATF+4 power steering fluid, search for a leak on PS lines & around pump.
Once a year I suction out the Atf+4 to keep it clean.
