Hi guys, I have a jeep liberty renegade 3.6 2004 and I installed 2" wheel spacers. The problem I have now is that I can't turn my wheels completly because they are too big. Do you guys know if a leveling kit of 1.5" is going to be enough or I have to buy a body lift of 2-3". Thanks

Welcome!

First, I hope you have thick skin...

There is no body lift for the liberty's, as far as leveling kit, what size tires are you running?
You might have to trim the plastic inner fender some, even the fender flare a bit.

My tires are 235/70/16 but my summer tires are smallers. So I should just try and trim the inner part of my wing?

I don't know what you are referencing to as far as the "wing".

There is plenty of plastic down there that can be trimmed. Its also possible you will need to "fold" the pinch weld.

What are you currently rubbing on? Any photos?

Remove the spacers, bad for ya
leveling kit, no unless you like wasting money
Sure buy a body lift LOL ( thats right you can't )
If you want for some unknown reason to run spacers, lift it right with a full spring lift, I mean come on now if 235-70-16s are rubbing bet your stock springs are sagged an inch or more
Don't hack away just to fit tires , no need to if done right
So here ya go, on level measure the left front from middle of the wheel to bottom of flare and report back tomorrow.
We'll wait for ya here:gr_grin:

and you have a 3.7, not a 3.6

It's a 3.7, not 3.6, as was said. Oops. Quick, log off, create a new forum account with a new, corrected screen name before you get too many posts in.

Eek..2 INCH wheel spacers? WTF dude? 2 INCHES?! I mean.. that sounds egregious and obscene.. you like that look? You probably went 50mm out because your tires are so narrow for a typical 4x4 look. Would have been better off putting wider tires on.

Any cheap leveling kit is going to be a waste of money and make more suspension problems for you.

No body lift, because the vehicle is a unibody... not body on frame.

Like Tom said, I'd bet money that your factory springs are sagged and you're sitting lower than it should- they all do. Factory springs were/are too weak for this 4000lb shoebox of a vehicle. They all sit an inch or more lower until replaced. OE-spec replacements are fairly cheap, but they are cheap. And you'll be back where you are within 4-5 years or less.

At this point, I think your best option is to remove the spacers so you can turn your wheels, first off. Then, if the tires are still good, run them. But fix your weak, tired, and old suspension parts first. Then, when the time comes, or because you want to, buy larger tires (of the proper up-size) and pound over (do not cut) the pinch welds for clearance.

If you spend the necessary $900-$1000 on a proper 2.5-3" spring lift, then a whole world of options opens up for you.

Good luck. Can you post some pics of your rig? Would love to see it, especially with +50mm spacers on the wheels.

BEFORE you buy new tires measure and see how much you are sagged.
Left front, measure middle of the wheel to bottom of the flare and report back.

Just talking to someone that didn't think his was sagged, measured it and he was sitting 1.5 inches lower than new stock

And just FYI, new stock is 19 inches.

I never tell them that until after they measure
did that once guy came back next day saying he measured wrong and his sat stock height with 175,000 on and I was full of it. Got to see it a month later, yep was 1.5 inches sagged

1.25" spacers are what I run with stock wheels. 1.5" adapters with stock JK wheels.

The thicker the spacer, the greater the arc the tire swings when you steer. That's why you're having clearance problems.
