Who sells the best cv axles

The wifes 02 needs the passenger CV replaced. Is Napa remanufactured CV axles still the go to for the Liberty? In the past I read the Napa remanufactured CV's were the only ones that were the correct length.

Also is this the correct intermediate shaft?

And finally do I need to buy the C-clips for the intermediate shaft and should I replace the axle seal?

I got the Cardone 663351/663352 CV shafts in 2013 from rockauto. ~80,000km so far, no issues.

Just read an old thread about the right side seal being a real PITA to replace.
Has anyone got any tips on replacing the seal?

I had the diff out when I did mine, and the carrier out of the diff too. I punched out the bearing and seal from the opposite side with a socket and long extension.

You may be able to use a slide-hammer with axle bearing remover attachments... have not tried.

Use a Mopar seal, did my driver's side twice with a National brand one and it leaked (used a MAC seal driver, packed it with grease to hold the spring in place etc) took it to a shop and they used a Mopar one, didn't leak.

The bearing, if you have a plastic one replace it, if you have a metal one leave it since you'll get a plastic one if you order a new one I think. My 05 has metal ones.

I ordered Omix-Ada seals and bearings. They showed up in Spicer boxes (seal #50608; bearing #566131). No issues with them.

Our '05 had plastic bushings, stock. The '04 3.73 diff I swapped in just before christmas had the caged needle bearings instead.

Ordered the front right cv from NAPA today. Getting the remanufactured one. Ordered the intermediate shaft yesterday. Going to try to replace them without replacing the axle seal.

Assess the bearing/bushing when you plug in the new assembly. If the CV can hop up and down in the end of the housing, the splines won't last long.

If it's not leaking now, as long as you're careful it won't leak after. Actually, a lot of CV axle leaks are caused by wear in the axle where it makes contact with the seal. So a fresh axle if anything will restore it a bit.

Well I hope so and if it does start to leak I'll take it apart and replace the seal.

I've replaced many CVs/ Intermediate and never replaced bushing etc

Good deal, thanks for the input.

Seal was a hell of a time. Had to use a 3 claw puller for it. I was actually able to break apart the bearing and pull it out in pieces before the seal came.

At least it's out. Hope it goes back together easier.
I think I will leave my seal alone and hope it does not leak.

If it's not leaking now, then it'll be ok as long as you pull it straight out.

That's what I'll do.

Parts installed no more rumble from the front end when driving. Intermediate shaft and cv axle was worn a little.

Anyone come up with an idea of what to turn old Intermediate shafts into?
Hate to just throw them away, but have like 8-10 at least piled up here.

Makes for a mighty drift punch that you'll hardly ever use, or a weapon.
