Could someone tell me what this is from off of my 2004 Jeep Liberty I found it laying in the driveway after I moved the vehicle.
The spring is 40 mm long and about 22 mm in diameter.

Isn't that a broken rusty stud from where the Y-pipe connects to the manifold?

Seriously?...40mm is 1.57 inches and 22mm is .086 of an inch Huh?
There are 4 coil springs on the Jeep 2 for front suspension & two in the rear.
Either you got a busted suspension or you got some road debris happening there..??

do these jeeps use the spring tensioned bolts to connect the down pipe to the manifold? if so that'd be my guess, that it's one of those. also it means your shit is REALLY rusty and is literally falling apart.

Looks like an exhaust bolt to me. I have never seen one that rusted before. You might want to have that Jeep undercoated.
