Hey everyone. I'm at my wits end on this so maybe you guys can help. 2005 Liberty with tow package overheats when I'm hauling my small flatbed trailer. I've replaced t stat, water pump, temp sensor and fan motor. Still overheating. I'm thinking of taking to jeep dealer and have ****** fluid and filters changed along with coolant flush. Am I missing something? I'm not a mechanic so what else could be the problem? Driving it by itself is fine, but as soon as I haul my trailer I get overheating problems. Please help.

Thorough coolant flush certainly, depending on when it was last done there could be a lot of crud/goop in the system. Also check the fan clutch. If thats gone, then the mechanical fan won't engage as the system is put under load.

I'm guessing the radiator is clogged. Do you know the service history? I'm guessing someone used non HOAT coolant and now it's all gummed up.

That was also my guess. I have a new radiator but just haven't put in yet. Will keep posted if that fixes problem.

Why do you have a new rad? Leaks anywhere in your current rad?
Is the coolant tank reservoir at the cold full line each morning? Do you have to Add Hoat coolant?
A dealer has the correct pressurized flush machine, and is the correct way to replace all the HOAT coolant at once.
Air into the system=not pressurizing properly?
Check to ensure that you have the correct reservoir cap & that rubber seal in not broken or cracked as well

No leaks anywhere. Do not have to add coolant. Just going through the steps trying to figure ths out. I will try cap first. Will have system flushed.

Yes everything is good. Like I said before, when driving by itself, even with a/c on, it's ok. Temp gauge is at half way. When I hook up my flatbed trailer to it, it overheats after a couple miles. Could it be ****** or ****** fluid?

For the ****** to overheat the engine, the ****** would have to be getting super super hot. I'd replace the radiator and fan clutch. HOAT coolant only (Zerex G05, everywhere but Walmart and Autozone have it).

Guess what? After replacing all that, I tried a new cap, that was it. Holy crap. A $6 cap was all it was.
