2006 Liberty - Odd AC Issue

So, the air conditioning doesn't work on my 2006 jeep liberty, 3.7L.

When I hit the air conditioning button on the hvac control, the radiator cooling fan kicks on, and stays on until the jeep it turned off. But, the compressor doesn't kick in.
I've tried to jumper the low pressure switch, but there is this 4 prong wire connector on the high pressure side.

I can turn off the ac, but the fan stays running.

Anyone run into this before?

Do you see/hear the AC clutch engaging.....when the clutch engages you will see the compressor input shaft rotating.

You can remove the AC relay in the box under the hood and briefly jumper female pins in the open socket 30 and 87 together to see if the clutch engages and the compressor rotates. I say briefly as running the compressor with possible low refrigerant will damage the compressor.

This will prove if the clutch is actually working so the problem is most likely low refrigerant.

What he said. If this sounds a bit too technical for your skill set then make a local inquiry for a reputable auto AC shop and let them check your systems. AC systems have several integrated circuits and physics going on. It's not always immediately apparent what is "faulty." A good tech (not a shade tree parts changer) will cost less in the long run.

You need to check if you are actually getting +12 volts on the clutch with reference to engine/chassis when you jumper pin 30 and 87 in AC relay socket.

If voltage is there then the clutch coil is burnt out most likely.
You need to obtain a cheap digital multi meter to measure these voltages.
